We came to Eva Restaurant for dinner as a group of four adults and one child and were extremely disappointed by the service — especially by the manager named Clement.
At first, we were seated at a small indoor table where the space was so tight that two of us would have had to sit awkwardly at the corners, right next to another table already occupied by guests. It was cramped and uncomfortable — not suitable for a relaxed dinner. We politely asked to move to a nearby table of the same size that was clearly not reserved and offered more space, where we wouldn’t disturb other diners.
Clement refused and said, “I gave you two options, and that’s it,” without giving any valid reason. One of the tables he offered was right next to the door — again, not comfortable for dining. We explained that it would be cold sitting there, but he showed no concern. What made the situation worse was the dismissive and disrespectful tone he used, as if we weren’t worthy of decent service. This was especially hurtful because we were celebrating a special occasion — one of our guests had just earned a second PhD and is a professor.
Eventually, we sat outside on the terrace because we were too tired and hungry to continue arguing. It was cold, but the tables were larger and there was a heater. Thankfully, another manager named Laura treated us with kindness and respect — she was professional and accommodating. However, Claremont later came outside, claimed we had spoken to him rudely (which we absolutely had not), and told us we would not be served and had to leave.
If we had truly been rude, the other manager wouldn’t have helped us. The entire situation felt unfair and discriminatory. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and we will not...

Full Review: Eva, located on Newbury Street in Boston, is a Mediterranean restaurant with a substantial menu that caters to a variety of tastes. While some may consider it sacrilege to order a burger at a Mediterranean restaurant, Eva proves to be anything but pretentious, offering options for all types of diners.
On a recent visit, I decided to try the burger, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was made. The beef patty was juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The accompanying fries were crispy and seasoned just right, making for a satisfying meal. Despite not being a traditional Mediterranean dish, the burger held its own among the other offerings on the menu.
In addition to the food, the drinks at Eva were also a highlight. I opted for a sweet drink that paired perfectly with my meal, adding to the overall dining experience.
One of the standout features of Eva is its outdoor seating on Newbury Street. For those who enjoy dining al fresco, this is a great option, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere of one of Boston's most iconic streets while enjoying your meal.
The service at Eva was attentive and friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall, my experience at Eva was positive, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in a relaxed setting.

Read moreHonestly I was expecting so much more from this place. We came as a large group for lunch and they just cannot handle a lot of people at once for some reason I guess. We were at 3 separate tables and somehow one of the tables in our ‘group’ had their checks before our table even had our food out. We waited almost 40 minutes to get food and my order was wrong. We asked for the sauce on the side because my bf can’t eat the ranch but it was all over the sandwich. Since it took so long we didn’t want to ask for a replacement so we just asked them to take it off and thankfully they did. We also ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls which were definitely not spring rolls. My bf had a bite and started to feel sick because they definitely seemed more like an egg roll. Of course I recognize large groups are overwhelming, but I just can’t see how some of the tables got food 30 minutes before ours. When we asked what was taking so long they started coming out with food saying ok well we’ll just bring out what’s ready. So I guess our food had been sitting there for a little while because it wasn’t very hot. Other people at our table still waited at least 5 minutes. We got the fried chicken sandwich and it was very flavorless. The cheeseburger ‘spring rolls’ were ok, but I was expecting more spring roll. Everyone else in our group said the food was just ok, nothing great. So overall we left about 1.5 hours after we got there feeling hungry (and my bf feeling a little sick). I don’t...
