Adding more as of 1/27/21. Don't order windows or anything that requires tracking from this store either. The store has been unhelpful, to say the least. I ordered a window on 12/11, which still hasn't shown up despite the delivery date of 1/21. I've talked to the customer service staff several times since and keep being told that the window has shipped but they'll have to call me back with an updated delivery date...which never happens. When I pull up the tracking info from the email when the window was ordered it says to call the store. I don't have this issue when I order from the Golden or Arvada store. The Boulder store seems to have management and customer service issues that remain unresolved and they don't seem to care. This store is the worst.
Do not buy appliances here! While the staff at this HD were very helpful and polite, I can't same the same for how things have been handled since I purchased over 5k in appliances on 11/9/19. HD uses a third party delivery service, Linn Star Tranfer, and they don't advertise this, for good reason. Linn Star has failed to deliver my appliances three times now. Straight up no-shows. Extremely poor communication from both companies. I have taken so much time off work for this and they consistently fail to deliver. The reasons have been complete lies. Today was "The roads were too bad. Our driver attempted three times and even used chains." Thats what the customer service rep in Iowa said on the phone. As she's telling me this, I watched a school bus followed by a 2wd toyota corolla drive by. Ha! No transportation problems for Lowes, American Furniture Warehouse, UPS, Fed Ex, US Mail, Amazon, trash pick-up or anyone else. The road is a plowed school bus route. I was told my only options are to reschedule for a 4th attempt on 12/19 or cancel the order. They will not allow me to pick up my appliances. They will not transfer them to the store. Neither HD nor Linn Star Transfer will do anything to correctly resolve the situation. I recommend taking your business to Lowes or Mile High Appliance.
Update: The only solution other than a refund was for me to beg and plead to have the appliances delivered to the Boulder Home Depot and I had to pick them up myself. I really wanted to avoid a refund and starting over because it was well over a month of waiting for my appliances. My kitchen was almost complete and Christmas was a week away. I needed the new appliances. In the end, I took three days off work waiting for non-existent delivery, very poor customer service and then had to spend my time and gas money to get the appliances to my house. I had to get them upstairs by myself. Home Depot did give me 300 dollars back, but that was hardly adequate compensation, and I had to fight for that! I do not recommend Home Depot for...
Read moreThe only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is that I did have a good experience with a Customer Service employee up front and also the cashier who checked me out. Otherwise, my trip to this store was pretty awful. I needed help making sure I was buying the right products for my project and had to walk for many aisles to find an employee to ask. Then I was directed to aisle 44 for a product and this is where my adventure in terrible customer service truly began. First, one of those orange stairways on wheels had been left in the aisle, all smooshed up against a display next to it, so the aisle was much narrowed. The top on the product I was considering was faulty and some of the product leaked out onto the floor. I am not sure what’s in this stuff but it smells pretty bleach-y and I didn’t want anyone to step in it before the spill was cleaned up. Again, no employees in sight and I was stuck there for a moment telling other customers to watch their step, as they stepped around the abandoned mobile stairway and over this small spill. Finally I left aisle 44 and sought help from employees a few aisles over. I found 3 employees, just chatting among themselves, told them what happened, and they did not help me; they told me to go notify Paint because aisle 44 is apparently outside their responsibility!!! Yes, 3 idle employees, not with a customer, and they did not help me. I was kind of surprised but I went off to find Paint which was aisle 42 and sure enough there was one employee at the Paint counter but they were helping someone and another customer was in line after that. I wasn’t going to interrupt. So back I went to aisle 44, moved the stairway on wheels so it was sitting above the spill so no one would walk into it, and made my way to the front of the store to the Customer Service desk. After I waited for 2 available employees to finish talking among themselves, I was able to tell one of them about the situation. Finally some help here. I then checked out which is where I saw the one employee I would count as truly helpful and effective. I was overall very disappointed with my visit here, and I hope I don’t need to return again...
Read moreA very popular store these days! They have the stuff you need except when they don't. An order I placed on-line recently was delayed for two weeks without explanation. And while they have a lot of stuff, it can be hard to locate the item you need; many of the help staff lack sufficient knowledge of the inventory.
Today I asked an employee where I could find a certain sort of reinforcing bracket. He apologized for being too new to know the whole store very well but he quickly did an inventory search of some kind on his phone and was then able to point me in exactly the right direction.
Update March 2023: I'm compelled to take away a star based on our unhappy experience purchasing a replacement refrigerator from Home Depot. While the unit itself was fine and the price fair, the customer support and delivery/installation services were rather poor. While the pre-delivery checklist speaks about how some old built-in units cannot be hauled away upon delivery of the new one, H.D. customer support assured us that our particular old refrigerator could be and that instructions to that effect had been added to the order. But even though our old unit had been uninstalled and was sitting loose in the middle of the kitchen, the delivery/installation crew took one look and said "No can do." So having to then call a junk hauler added about $200 to the cost. Additionally, the installers could not be bothered to remove all the protective plastic film from the new unit nor to level it in place. The water connection kit they charged us for was also a "one size fits all" deal which didn't fit very well. The crew claimed they had to deliver and install 20 refrigerators that day. Seriously?! If true, that's so wrong. We highly recommend paying a little more to a quality local appliance retailer and get actual service. We will never again make the mistake of purchasing a major appliance from a big box store...
