Monterrey Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Braselton

Great experience. Food was the better Mexican food in Braselton GA. We have about 6 and the others just taste blah. This place I was very happy with. Only issue was my friends and I stay for while(2 hours total) talking. We had all order entress and one appetizer. I think the server wanted us to leave so she never cleaned one dish off the table. I'm assuming she was giving us a hint she wanted to turn the table which I completely understand, on my check alone it was 32.00, I gave her a 25.00 tip to make up for us keeping her table. I'm sure my friends did 20% or more so she made 35.00 to 40.00 tip.

She should have made our table clean. She probably wouldn't have made that working a table if we left. But it is what it is. I would come back.

Server was very Disrespectful!!! Went for Dinner on 28th Feb, Was seated right behind Cash Counter. The lady who served was very disrespectful towards us ! starters were placed on table without plates Had to request to the gentleman at cash counter ( Guess he was the manager ) He brought some plates. The lady came back after 5 minutes and asked if we need to-go box right after five minutes food was served . Informed her we need atleast 10-15 minutes to eat . Came back again after 15 minutes asking if need check and box. Seeing her hurry thought restaurant was closing it was 7.50Pm at that time . We packed all food in 4 boxes and asked if she can give some bags to carry the food as we had kid with us . She told she will bring and ignored us and again started counting her tips at the counter, Again requested the manager to give us some bags he gave us bags. Hire someone who has patience...

My first ever review b/c it was that bad and how a 4.3 rating is even possible is beyond me. Monterey has found a way to ruin Mexican food. When the highlight of the meal was the lemonade, and cheese dip, it’s a concern. Carne asada was like tanned leather with no flavor at all. Burnt would have been an upgrade. My kids love tacos and will tear into a Taco Bell twelve pack box, but could finish only 1of 3 tacos ordered. That just isn’t supposed to happen. The ground beef tasted like instant potatoes and just as mushy. Retried beans should be called soup and guacamole was the same. We gave it a chance today hoping they would have improved but in fact they have gotten worse. For the amount I paid to NOT to eat all of our meal, we could have eaten at Longhorns.
