Brilliance — Local services in Brattleboro

There are so few places in Brattleboro I even like--much less love--and I have to be really motivated to bother with a review. But, Brilliance is deserving! My dad has taken his watches in for repair for years. I've always made it my go-to when I needed some new sterling silver, or some interesting decor. But, my last visit was the clincher. My mom has Alzheimer's, and dad stepped on her favorite eyeglasses. We tried several other pairs, but she kept taking them off and we knew he would step on one of those. She bough them at the evil empire in Hinsdale. I first sent a friend in to go to the eyeglass place to see if they could fix them. The answer was, "No. They're too old to be under warranty." So, I PHONED the evil empire, offering to PAY for the repair. Again, a resounding, "No." And she suggested I visit an optician. I called Dr. Cotter's office and a very friendly person suggested I bring them in. When I got there, I was treated with derision, and directed to a (horrible, as it happens) local jeweler. Then, I realized...Brilliance!!!! Not only was I treated with as much warmth and welcome as I've come to expect, but I was also gifted a ridiculously expedient turnaround time with...fully repaired glasses! I actually cried when I picked them up. Not just because of the repair, but also. the generosity of spirit and care with which I was and am treated. Brilliance is the kind of store that makes you remember you have a choice of where to do business. And, that proprietors have a choice as to whether or not to treat customers like cherished guests. Unique Find for Charms and More I stopped by this shop while looking for some unique charms, and it didn’t disappoint! They have a nice selection of interesting decor items, jewelry, watches (plus repair), charms, dream catchers, clothing, and even some incense. I noticed a whole section dedicated to area rugs, though I didn’t explore that part during this visit. The staff was friendly and gave us the freedom to browse at our own pace. These folks are the BEST! I had my engagement ring resized twice since getting pregnant & having my baby. Brilliance did it both times, but then the gold band eventually became too thin & broke from how often I resized it. They fixed the band free of charge which shocked me as gold is very expensive! Thus saving my husband's great grandmother's ring to live another day. They also fixed a rug of hers we inherited that I brought in for repair & restoration. CANNOT recommend their...
