Make It Fit — Local services in Brea

This is factual. If I could give 0 stars I would because this place is not deserving. On March 31st, 2025 I walked in and I had one curtain / drape that was 4 feet in width. I needed it to be altered 7 inches from the bottom. The woman who I think is the owner was at the front desk. She was rude and started to whine of how she does not alter curtains. I looked around and there were dresses and pants that needed more technical altering. I asked If there was an exception to the rule since it had previously supported their business as a customer. The curtain just needed a straight line hem. She refused and kept whining. Sometimes business owners get lost and don't understand or remember the dream of starting and running their own business. They forget and mistreat good people and good customers. I guarantee theres an exception to the rule of assisting me in my situation if she was in a good mood. She just didn't want to help. It's sad and I recommend taking your business elsewhere for fair and equitable treatment. I'm certain if given the situation of her needing help or assistance she would expect fair and equitable treatment to satisfy her needs as a customer in this world whether it's a bank, a restaurant, a hospital, and even an altering business like this place. I will no longer recommend or support...

I’ve been going to Make it Fit for many years, mostly for hemming dresses, and they’ve generally done a good job at a reasonable price.

Last week, I brought in two dresses for hemming. They were the same style and size, just in different colors—navy and tan. However, the tan dress fit looser around the sides. I asked if it could be taken in to match the fit of the navy one. The tailor pinned it and assured me she would adjust both the fit and the length to match the navy dress.

After trying the tan dress on at home, I noticed it was still too loose on the sides and the length didn’t match the navy dress as promised. I returned to explain the issue and asked if it could be taken in a bit more.

To my surprise, Juliana raised her voice and told me the dress was made incorrectly and couldn’t be fixed. I was shocked by her reaction. When I explained that I wasn’t criticizing her work but simply asking for a better fit, she insisted it couldn’t be done because of the pocket.

I left the store in disbelief, especially given how unprofessional and rude she was in front of other customers.

Unfortunately, after this experience, I won’t be returning. It’s disappointing to be treated this way after being a loyal...

This place is amazing!!!! I recently took 6 skirts to get hemmed as they were too long. I tried them on at the shop one by one and the owner helped make sure each skirt was exactly to my liking. The dressing rooms look very nice with full length luxurious curtains.

My skirts are an unbalanced length, long in the front and back and shorter on the sides. The owner marked the skirts with chalk to ensure we were able to preserve the same style. I let her know the skirts are no rush and I still was able to receive them back within 3 business days.

The price was very affordable as I had done prior research on Yelp with several vendors. The owner made sure I was comfortable during the fitting and remembered who I was when I came back to pick up the skirts. I think these small details are very important to the customer and I can’t wait to go back with other items I have at home that need...
