I've heard about bad experiences with Men's Wearhouse and thought they were just exaggerating. However, our visit was definitely the worst customer service I have ever had. Note that we were told you are NOT ALLOWED to try on anything in the store unless you are planning to purchase them.
My fiancĂŠe and I went to pick out a tux for our wedding and upon arriving we were assigned a short-ish lady with blonde hair and glasses. Immediately we could tell something was off. She was extremely dismissive and her responses to our questions were nonsensical.
First of all, she said we weren't allowed to try anything on if we were renting. But we could try them on if we planned to buy. That doesn't make any sense to us and just seemed like a predatory tactic to pressure us to buy instead of rent. Next, we asked for a tux, but she brought us a suit. Nothing wrong with making mistakes, but she was clearly upset when we pointed that out. She also pressured and guilt tripped us for wanting to try out the clothes by saying that the store was very busy and there were two people waiting on us, but the store was completely empty. I asked her what the point of making an appointment was if we shouldn't be trying out clothes or getting fitted and she said, "it helps you skip the line, and most customers already know exactly what they want so they don't waste time." I don't know if she was just having a bad day or trying new medication or what, but it was getting really tedious and uncomfortable trying to interact with her. What kind of employee at a clothing store says that most customers don't want to try anything on? Why wouldn't everyone just order online at that point instead of coming into the store, and what is she even doing there for work if she does not want to help customers find what they want?

   Read moreThis place is gross. I don't know why anyone would chose a place that clearly doesn't wash the sample shirts for fittings. They had me try on shirts with yellowing and browning from being worn without washing properly. I was legit gonna walk out, but had to get over it for my friend's wedding.
They had no actual selection of the sample shirts for the ones that are actually being used in the wedding, so I had to try on a different shirt. Same with the shoes. Hope the actual shoes fit when they arrive.
The fitting room is ATROCIOUS. if it wasn't because my friend's getting married, I'd have opted out of this place. See the pictures. Their signs say they are committed to clean fitting rooms, but the clumped up dirt along the edge tells me they do the bare minimum of cleaning.
Lastly, you have to return the rentals the day after the wedding/party. Seriously, they do know adults drink, and are probably too hungover to want to go return a suit the next day? I'm sure they know that, and take advantage of that fact, so they charge you $25 per day if you don't return the rental the say after.
