Bike Rental review- our party of 7 all rented e-bikes today, about $150 apiece. We were told before taking the bikes that they had a minimum of 40 mile range, and we were taking them on the paved path from Copper to Vail, 15 miles each way. About 12 miles in, one bike had a chain break. We called the shop, and they said they couldn’t help- they told us to get it to Vail and get it fixed for reimbursement. Thankfully, we have a van large enough to transport it and family as sag support, so we got it to Vail and had the chain fixed.
On the way back to Copper, the chain broke almost immediately, so we transported back to the shop. Brad the manager was irritated that we didn’t call back to use his credit card (which he never mentioned) and was not at all apologetic or willing to give any portion of a refund for a defective bike. As the rest of the group of seven was returning the same time, 2 of the bikes had their batteries die about 4- 5 miles in to the return trip to Copper, which was well below the estimated 40 miles of the bike battery’s capacity. We again transported the defective bikes back to Copper, and Brad, the manager, again refused any sort of refund and claimed it was user error, although never in the bike instructions did they say that it could not go the full 30 miles we needed for the trip.

Read moreFirst time ever skiing for a family of four. They'll give you five minutes of their time but don't expect any more. Just want your money. And they don't do rentals for snow jacket/pants, so then we had to go to a second store for that. Also, they recommended that poles weren't necessary for our 8 year old girl, because "it would be just another thing for her to keep up with." Bad advice. She struggled so much, but then my husband let her use his poles and she enjoyed it...
