Copper Mountain — Hotel in Four Corners States

In over 3 decades of travel, I’ve never left a review like this. These were the issues of the individual unit 124B at Union Creek at Copper Mountain.

Fix basement door (from garage) when coming into house. It jams up and won’t open fully due to top bracket arm. You have to lift it up with your hand every time. Very inconvenient.

Supply larger skillet and another larger pot. We went out and bought one so we could cook spaghetti.

Ceiling fan in master room upstairs clicks annoyingly, even at slow speed. Difficult to sleep, even had a dream I was on a bus and we couldn’t turn off the blinker! 😆

A larger TV in the main room would have been nice. TV’s are so cheap these days.

Hot tub lid is very water logged and extremely heavy. Need a new lid. Also the white styrofoam was chipped off into the tub with white flakes floating.

Wi-fi was almost non existent. Only a couple devices could log on, and the speeds were so slow you couldn’t even watch a simple video.

Wiring might be a bit sketchy. A living room outlet melted our Apple phone charger.

Showers didn’t drain very well. Inch or two of standing water as you shared. Took 20 minutes or more to drain.

Dishwasher didn’t work due to the drain issues and/or pump issues.

Two bedrooms downstairs had extremely uncomfortable mattresses. Master room bed was fine, but the other two rooms were not good at all.

In short, this is likely one of the worst places we’ve stayed for the money we paid. I would highly recommend no one ever staying in this place for the money we paid. It reminded me of a very cheap motel.

I hate being this negative, as we’ve traveled all over the country for decades, and I’ve never given a review like this. If the owner of this place would simply do some very minor upgrades, and just keep up the quality, this has potential to be...

I reserved a Copper one unit 5 months in advance. Two weeks prior to visiting, I got call saying the unit is not available. I was bumped to the Summit house without being told the unit has no parking. After arriving, the staff told me I had to park at the Alpine lot. After asking and pleading with the staff to find me a closer parking spot (including Copper One which had free spots) the staff refused to help. Instead, my car was parked 20 minutes away where snow plows pushed snow all around it causing it to freeze and turn into ice!

This completely ruined my plans to leave the resort daily and caused me over an hour of arduous work to recover my car. I spent an hour breaking ice chunks with a shovel while the resort staff looked on and did not offer any help. After getting my car one, one of the staff joked that I finally did it!

Not only did they not honor my reservation, they put me in the Alpine lot (the only car there at night!), and laughed at my misfortunes. Terrible...

We were just there to enjoy the go cart track, we bought several tickets each to ride. During our first ride the attendant, Julian, stopped the ride because an 11 year old almost hit him while trying to avoid another cart. Julian was walking on the track. Then kicked us off because he was almost hit. We tried to get refunds but there is noone on-site that can remedy this type of complaint. We did get refunds a week later over email and over the phone. The lady I spoke with was very nice. The overall experience was poor for a so called fun experience, with an attendant who is anti fun.
