TLDR: coaster fun, employees can be rude and kool aid drinkers who don't know their own state mask mandate.
The coaster was a lot of fun but the guy in the little booth that sold the tickets closed the window and refused to talk to me until I put my mask on. I am from out of town and not used to Colorado mask mandate, where I live while outdoors and with social distancing we do not need mask on. He was extremely rude and told me mask have to be worn in all public areas. After dealing with captain kool aid I looked up the mandate and it is when entering and in an ENCLOSED public place, mask must be worn. So their employee wasn't even educated in what the state mandate actually is. Granted as a private business they can choose to do what ever but closing the window to his little but and refusing to talk to me was absolutely uncalled for and as an owner of a business I would have fired him on the spot if a customer told me about this.
Furthermore after lecturing me about mask mandate they handed me a pen to sign liability paperwork with out sanitizing it, then watching them try to sanitize the carts they only did the seatbelts and not the handles that we...
Read moreThis was out of the way, but it’s the longest one in the US. And it was worth it. The cost is also more then any other one in the area which the time to cost ratio was not good. But either way the ride is great. You control the speed of how fast or slow you want to go. You start at the bottom and ride it to the top then it’s a free for all. People that complain about long wait time, during times of a lot of people yes it can get long. We lucked out and waited 30/45 mins in line. But this is do to they need to create gaps between riders. They cannot speed up as they that would create people bumping slower riders on the track. The wait is worth it. The cost is not. For me it’s a been there done that got the t-shirt what’s next. I see no need to return to do it again as the cost is too high. At a lower cost I would. The packages they offer of your doing a whole day experience do bring it down. But with the lines you will just be doing stuff here all day to get all the things off the...
Read moreBeware of the posted hours. I showed up around 3:45pm on a Thursday, realized that you needed to actually buy tickets elsewhere instead of at the coaster. Came back with tickets for my wife and I at 4:05pm and they said they were already closed, despite the hours online saying that they close at 5pm. They said to come back another day before 4pm since that is when they actually close (which is inconvenient since that’s when ski lifts close, and again, not consistent with the posted hours). So we came back at 2:50pm on our last day, a Wednesday, careful not to come in our ski boots since that’s not allowed either. Guess what? They’re closed. Not only did we waste money getting our tickets but we wasted our time twice and left Copper Mountain very...
