EDIT: was told by owner publicly on here that they would try to get me a refund for classes their studio closing didn’t allow me to use - but have not been refunded.
Original post: On January 19 I purchased a Groupon pack of 10, with an expiration of July 18. I travel a lot for work, but wanted to try a new studio for when I'm in town. The Groupon was only good for Sandy Springs, and even though I live a stone's throw from the Clairmont location, I thought I can try this location first and see if I like it for a later monthly membership at Clairmont. I was able to use only 2 of the 10 classes by March 5, at which point the instructor told us the studio was sold and closing at the end of March. I approached her after class and said I just got this Groupon barely six weeks ago, and I won't be able to use the remaining 8 classes before then, could I use it at Clairmont? She said oh just email the owner, Parisa, she probably will honor it, she's really good about that kind of thing. Well...Parisa did not honor it. Parisa told me I could contact Groupon about a refund (!). Thanks for the help! Well Groupon did give me something, but it wasn't a refund. It was Groupon bucks. I think it's bad business practice and poor customer service for someone to sell a bunch of Groupons supposedly good for 6 months, but then surprise you 6 weeks after the sale with a change in the conditions. It feels like a cash grab at the expense of someone who was looking for a potential monthly studio. The two classes were nice, but I wouldn't patronize a studio that reneged on an agreed arrangement and then put it on me to figure out the solution. You really couldn't just go through and honor those last 8 classes...
Read moreLove this place! The new student unlimited 2 week deal was such a great way to get a taste for this studio. Every teacher offers a unique experience and even going to the same teacher's class weekly, things always feel fresh. Which makes having the unlimited pass worth the price.
The studio offers a variety of classes including vinyasa flows (heated and non-heated), meditation, restorative yoga, and barre. It's great to find a studio that offers such a range of classes because it makes your fitness routine more engaging. Like going to a high energy barre class on Monday, mellowing out your anxieties at a restorative class on Tuesday night and then doing some smooth and strengthening vinyasa classes throughout the week.
Facilities: Studio is comprised of 2 rooms for classes, 2 restrooms (one of which has a shower and lots of toiletry options if you need to shower up and head straight to work), and a cubby area at the front for dropping your things off as you head to class. Studio door is locked during classes for security purposes.
Parking: so easy to park here due to the big shared parking lot. You'll never have an issue pulling in last minute to a class and struggling with parking. This has been a major perk! Some of the studios in town do not have easy parking access and that becomes quite a nuisance.
Misc: The studio offers bolsters for restorative classes and blocks for any class. I believe you can rent yoga mats too if you're in a pinch. Seriously, try this place out - you won't regret it! I was pleasantly surprised with how great their app is. It's super easy to use for scheduling/booking/cancelling and...
Read moreEasy 5 stars. This was my first time ever doing yoga so I had no expectations going in. They were SO nice and welcoming at the front desk. Everything was immaculately clean and the studio room was very nice. They have showers, and cubbies to keep your stuff during class. Cubbies aren't locking, but they're directly in front of the front desk so they're monitored the entire time you're in class.
I took the 101 class with Melanie and she was FANTASTIC. She's incredibly passionate about what she does, friendly, easy to talk to, all that fun stuff. SHE was genuinely excited that it was my first time trying yoga. I felt welcome and completely comfortable in what one might (incorrectly) assume to be an intimidating environment for a first-timer.
I think it's imperative to have a good experience when you're trying something new for the first time; Melanie and Element Yoga as a whole fully accomplished that. I will be coming back in the future,...
