Goldilocks Antiques — Local services in Brookings

Left town to visit this store for my birthday weekend. We drove specifically here from Medford because of an ad on Craigslist mentioning the collection of vintage Pyrex for sale. When we found the pyrex selection, many of the pieces were dishwasher damaged, and they were all severely overpriced. I asked if they would come down to a reasonable price (slightly more than I could order it online, in better condition and have it shipped to my house), and the staff called the owner. The owner refused to budge on the price at all. I am a serious pyrex collector, I know the going rates, I understand the antique store prices, and this business comes nowhere close to the customer care and reasonable prices of stores in Southern Oregon. I stopped into this lovely location several weeks ago. Thoroughly enjoyed the shop and the conversation with the staff. However I am very disgusted what the employee did. I bought several pieces of jewelry. One of the pieces was a delicate brooch with a polished fossil of sorts. While the employee was wrapping it she dropped it. I watched her pick it up and inspect it. Thinking everything was fine with the piece, I finished my purchase and went home. To my suprise when I got home and unwrapped it, a large chunk was missing from it. Why would I continue to purchase something that u just damaged!?? She could have told me what happened and I would have gone...

I am leaving the store with my son and husband. We talked the lady that owns the store, we talked to her about how to sell on the internet properly and as I was pushing my son in his stroller out she follows me, I keep turning my head wondering what she's doing following so closely. She couldn't tell a toy machine Betty Boop stuffed animal from their local Brookings Fred Meyers store. Well, as we are leaving I'm pushing my son and he has his toys under his stroller like any toddler and one is a Betty boop doll. She accuses me of stealing it, and doesn't even know her own inventory or what a true antique is. It was truly uncomfortable. I will never go...
