Sometimes, when creative people post things online in a creative attractive way, it gets people like me to take a visit and see what the poster is posting, in real life. And the light show at Azalea park in Brookings, OR was one of those posts, there haven't been that many, but the digital creator for this place (online), did a pretty good job! 🌟

So off I went on another solo road trip into Brookings, OR! The best way to travel these days, solo! And it was wonderful, freeing, alive, fun, and just a little scary going around the slightly wet and slippery mountain on the winding roads. Yet it was still good! I arrived a little early to try to visit the town, not get lost and have something warm and filling to eat

Azalea park is such a great place with pretty flowers in the summer/spring and Christmas lights during the winter. It has a great playground called kid land with many things for kids to play on/with. It has a giant stage that when is not in use anyone can go onto. It also has base ball fields, soccer field, and a frisbee golf course. There is a gazebo on top of the hill, and during winter they have a Santa that you can meet with for free. The gazebo is always open and you can just sit and admire the view for hours. It has open grassy fields for picnicking, and fields for sports. Always super clean and well kept lots of trails to explore and hike. Just such a great place. I love this place so much it’s a part of my childhood. If I could I would give it infinite stars. Would recommend...

Yet it was still good! I arrived a little early to try to visit the town, not get lost and have something warm and filling to eat < the eating part didn't go so well. :( Night fell pretty quick and off to the light show I went. $3 entry fee and free parking, the parking lot is a little small, but lucky me it wasn't very crowded :) and it wasn't very cold either! It was so grand. Lights everywhere, colorful glorious lights, twinkling, shimmering, glowing, festive happy music playing in the background, easy smooth walkways and pathways to walk along and of course. well lit! Moving and still displays, themed and generic ones, places to sit and rest, as well as the "Kodak Moment" spots. Benches tucked away amongst the trees to sit and take in the festive feeling and mood of the night's event. An awe-inspiring feel. Just a good overall feeling of peace, joy and freedom! A good warm feeling. Thanx to the creative poster on Instagram, for making the adventure interesting!

Blast from the past! We totally loved this old school park and playground. Definitely rough around the edges, some broken parts, minimal graffiti which was surprising but awesome. Bathroom was atrocious, no tp, broken stall doors. Park grounds were beautiful, tons of flowers, even saw deer as we ate a picnic. Saw maintenance crew about, seemed active and emptying garbage etc. The awesome retro playground is enough to bring us back, let alone the gorgeous nature areas. Please consider fixing the broken parts on playground! 🙏(Missing tires, too low bark chips, ripped weed barrier, broken music pipes, broken wooden beams.) Otherwise, Wonderful visit and will be back.

A beautiful park designed for children. We were at the park at 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. This park is UNSAFE. We were there less than 30 minutes you can see the damage to my truck as it was tried to pry into the back of the truck and we're unsuccessful. This park is located within walking distance of a school for children. The local police authority obviously you're not doing their part when you can't go to a park in the middle of the day and not have your vehicle broken into. Would be a five-star Park if you could feel safe and secure with your vehicle locked up.
