Over her birthday (12/19/24) and Christmas (12/25/24), my 17-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, Elizabeth, received about $280+ in AMC gift cards from family and friends because they know that going to the movies is her most favorite thing to do.
After Christmas, I loaded them all into my AMC Stubs account wallet (I've done this many times over the past decade with no issue). Then, a few days later when we were preparing to go see Lion King as a family, I noticed that all the gift cards were still loaded in the wallet, but the balances were 0. I was VERY upset to see this. I luckily took screen shots of all of those but, with the exception of the few sent via email, I didn't have the physical gift cards anymore. Of course, once I saw them all loaded properly into my wallet with balances, I didn't think to keep them.
AMC has no customer service number, you have to communicate with them via Facebook messenger and I've been doing that weekly now since December 28 with zero luck. They keep telling me they have escalated our case to the gift card team and helping us “in the order received" but, it has been over seven weeks with no luck. I keep messaging and they keep telling me to wait. Now, we are just facing the fact that we lost $280+; so sad. I have asked two family members to contest the charges with their credit cards and I’ve taken to my large networks on social media in hopes to get resolution/response; I just can't spend much more mental energy on this issue.

Read moreTook my kids and their cousin (3, 4, and 6 years old) to see Wish over Thanksgiving weekend. The seats were super comfy! One star! The theater we were in (theatre 14) had balconies in front of each row. The kids couldn’t see more than the top half of the screen because the balcony was very high. I totally understand it’s there for safety. However, if smaller children can’t see the screen, it should be noted when purchasing the seats. Keep in mind, this was for a KIDS movie. The kids ended up standing during a good chunk of the movie. The next day I called and spoke with Roger, the general manager, and shared my concern with him. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. He was incredibly rude and shaming and listed off all the things I should have done differently. instead of being discrete, I should have drug the three kids out of the movie and stood in a line to come tell them about the issue. I explained that there were balconies in front of all the rows so it would have been an issue regardless and that I didn’t want them to miss part of the movie. he refused to provide any type of compensation because we finished our experience and didn’t raise the concern earlier. I really thought I was doing the right thing by being patient and discreet and not throwing a fit about it in front of my kids or in public. I guess I know world of Karen’s, you have to act like a Karen to get your point across. So...
Read moreFor some reason the soap in the woman’s room is always out, and sometimes the soda machine has… a peculiar taste. The food is… amc food so the popcorn is good (I’ve had trouble with other ones in this state having old tasting soggy ((not from butter)) popcorn), the Hungarian pretzel and the pretzel bites are good. Everything else is okay, like the flatbread and the sliders. Even the chicken nuggets are very average which is to be expected. Besides that the popcorn is always great, service is as you’d expect but I’ve never had a terrible experience, theaters generally pretty clean. It’s definitely worth it to do the more advanced screens like imax just for the larger more immersive screen and sound. The other theater sections that aren’t those are still nice though. All of the seats in this theater are large and reclinable which is nice. Even if some of the sections in the back have that little plastic screen that seems to be covered on an off with y’all’s gross children’s bugger covered fingers. It’s also a walk from the second and, and the mall so that’s nice.
Side notes: AMC does have a monthly pass with a decent points system, but… the company makes it difficult to cancel and you can only cancel after a few months. So if you do sign up just know… it’ll be a hurdle to cancel. Undoubtedly done to keep people from canceling. Given the price of movies at amc it’s worth it, especially if you live nearby and watch a...
