Crazy that this restaurant has the rating it does. I went out if blind faith because I needed a beer. I had been working over 10 hours a day (I do trade shows) for the last 2 months and I was burned out and needed to treat myself. They didn't have Sierra Nevada but that was fine. I got fat tire IPA and it was fantastic. After that one I tried the one with the duck, it was terrible! Luckily the bartender could tell I wasn't drinking it and she offered me the fat tire, which is great because I didn't want to pay for bad beer, and I didn't want to be "that kind of customer" and complain enough to see if I could get a new one, she just automatically knew I hated it, she is that good of a bartender.
I ordered the t-bone steak with shrimp, and got extra shrimp. It was delicious! Everything was seasoned perfectly, the rice was soft and fluffy, it came with sliced fried potatoes, a roasted jalapeño sliced in such a way that it curled up like an octopus (I could have eaten a whole plate of those), and I ate two basket of complimentary chips and salsa which was fantastic.
I asked for my steak rate, I got rare! Most places are afraid to cook their steak rare, but this steak was bloody! Kudos to the chef, the bartender, and the owner. I thought for sure it was going to cost me at least $50 (I was the only one in my party). Come to my surprise it was about 25% less than I expected, so I tipped the cook who made my meal a $5 and tipped the bartender a $5 and STILL paid under $50!
I was a chef for over 15 years so usually when I eat I'm so picky I either compromise or make it myself. I can't remember the last time I felt so pampered.
While I was there someone was having a birthday so servers came out as a faux mariachi band and sang. It was cute.
I tried really hard to find reasons to dislike my meal and just couldn't. One out of my 8 shrimp still had a "poop chute" on it which I pulled off, and the fried potatoes oil was slightly dirty, but other than that I was shocked how much I enjoyed myself for the price I paid. It's no Michelin restaurant, but Broomfield is lucky to have a slice of heaven like this in its humble town!...
Read moreI had dinner this evening with two lovely friends. To begin with the menu is all over the place with too many items and not organized. I asked the waitress if the Shrimp Scampi for 13.95 had pasta. Yes, I asked if it had pasta because where I am from (NOLA) Shrimp Scampi always comes with pasta. She said "no" and I said okay I will order the Shrimp Scampi. When I got my dinner I noticed they had rice to the side and garlic bread. So I thought to myself -- okay, this is what it comes with. When we got our bill my order was billed at 23.95. I explained the scenario to the waitress so she got the "manager" and he came and I proceeded to explain what happened and he sarcastically said this is a Mexican restaurant not Italian. Then I continued to explain my questioning if it had pasta, that the waitress said no. And the waitress agreed that I said that. He was steaming mad! He then says well I will give you a "senior" discount. I said what? A senior discount? He mumbled and said yes, a discount. The waitress ended up explaining that she asked another employee where to ring up the order on the register and that employee pointed to the Shrimp Scampi Dinner which was the 23.95 entree. And that the manager was very mad at her. I told her that it was okay, that people make mistakes. I also said the menu is way to crazy and disorganized and that would not fly with Hell's Kitchen. I proceeded to tip her 20%.
No matter how mad you are "the customer is always right" and you shouldn't talk down to women. If that was a man, let me tell you that wouldn't have happened. I don't know the manager's name but he was working on the evening of November 3, 2018 at 8:30 p.m.
Good riddens! My money will be spent at some other place. You lost a potentially loyal customer because I just joined the LifeTime Athletic Club and would venture down to El Tapatio to have a nice glass of Chardonnay after spending exercise and spa time. Will venture onto the Japanese...
Read moreFirst experience was great! The waiter in the bar area was on his game. But on the 31st of Saturday not so much. I ordered the same food from my first visit. A ground beef and bean burrito supreme which comes with rice and beans. So I ordered that not expecting anything to happen. We got our chips and salsa one of the chips tasted old (gross). Anyway when the waitress put the plate on the table I was confused. It was just a burrito no rice and beans. I told the waitress no this is not what I ordered. My husband lifted the end if the burrito up to see it was shredded beef. I continued to say no this isn't what I ordered it's supposed to be beef and bean with rice and beans on the side. She then tells me none of the burritos come with rice and beans. I told her no the supreme does. You can guess at this point how this went.
So she takes the plate back...not two seconds later our original waitress comes back and puts the plate down with the same burrito. Like seriously hello I'm not going to eat this. It's the same burrito the same plate. So we just sat there not eating. the original waitress came back and asked if we were ok. I told her this is the same plate the other waitress gave us and you just gave it back. At this point I got the menu and showed them what I pointed at. She said it was a miss understanding. Really? I placed my finger on the menu...sigh.
So eventually we just asked to pay for the drink we got and be done with the whole thing. Well one of the waitresses brought the manager and he had a bad attitude about the whole thing. Started saying random numbers that go with the burritos. We were like whatever we are paying we want out. He took the plate and grabbed the salsa bowl and threw it in the green chilli on the plate. Wow really you guys are something else.
So don't eat here apparently it's rocket science too get one plate...
