Buena Park, California is an energetic city in northwestern Orange County with a unique mix of family attractions, suburban living, and cultural diversity.
What’s Great About Buena Park:
Entertainment & Attractions: It’s home to Knott’s Berry Farm, Soak City, Medieval Times, Pirates Dinner Adventure, and more. Families and tourists never run out of things to do. If you enjoy theme parks, shows, and weekend activities, this city delivers. Shopping & Dining: There’s a wide range of restaurants from Korean BBQ and Asian fusion to classic American diners. The Source OC and Buena Park Downtown are popular spots for shopping, movies, and food. You’ll find everything from trendy cafes to budget-friendly eateries. Location & Accessibility: Buena Park is near major freeways (5, 91, and Beach Blvd), making it easy to get to Los Angeles, Anaheim, Fullerton, and coastal cities. The location is one of its biggest advantages if you commute or like exploring Southern California. Community & Diversity: The city has a rich cultural blend, with large Korean, Latino, and other international communities. This makes for amazing food options and cultural festivals. It’s family-friendly, with community parks, schools, and local events. Weather: Typical SoCal—lots of sunshine, mild winters, and warm summers. Great for outdoor activities most of the year. Things to Consider: Traffic & Crowds: With Knott’s and other attractions, traffic around Beach Blvd and major streets can be heavy, especially on weekends or holidays. Parking near attractions can be tough. Safety: Buena Park is generally safe, but like many urban areas, crime varies by neighborhood. Some parts are very family-friendly and quiet, while others have higher property crime rates (car break-ins, petty theft). It’s important to research specific neighborhoods if you’re planning to move here. Housing & Cost of Living: Housing is more affordable than some other parts of Orange County, but still expensive compared to national averages. Renting and buying require a solid budget. Walkability & Transit: While some areas are walkable, most residents rely on cars. Public transportation is limited, so commuting without a car can be inconvenient. Noise Levels: If you live close to Knott’s Berry Farm or busy corridors, expect more noise, especially during tourist seasons. Overall: Buena Park is a vibrant, family-oriented city with plenty of attractions, food, and cultural experiences. It’s a great place for entertainment lovers, families, and people who value accessibility to both LA and Orange County highlights. However, if you’re seeking a very quiet, low-cost, or car-free lifestyle, it may not be...
Read morePoor service since I have been e-mail to assistant mayor about the parking situation that many people move our trash bin and taking over parking spot. Plus the police don’t really care or don’t see any vehicles that parked on red line (fire zone) or on the corner of sidewalk. This would be nice to have permit for our spot in front of our house and easier to place our trash bins...
