Some friends and I were trying this place for the first time because of the ongoing game collaboration event. Overall, getting shoved around and treated like unwanted and unwelcome cattle for some just-okay-chicken is not worth your money. Maybe it's better when there isn't an event going on but I hope that in the future Hoyo partners with other places that will be more organized, prepared, communicative, and friendly.
We went around 6:30PM the first night (Friday) after calling a couple times and nobody picked up the phone. We thought it might be busy, but when we arrived, it turned out they stopped the event at 5PM, which wasn't announced on any socials sadly. A waste of time and gas, and we sure wished they had answered their phone so we could have known! We saw multiple people leave after seeing the sign so I doubt they were so busy inside they couldn't take a call! Regardless, we decided we'd try again Sunday for an early lunch.
We arrived right around opening time (around 11AM), a security guy gave us tickets, and were told to come back at 1. So we killed time, and when we came back to order food they told us all the limited merch was now sold out for the day. Again, waste of our time! Why couldn't they have told us that they had hit their daily allotted amount for merch orders before shooing us away to wait for almost TWO HOURS?
At this point we're hungry, not willing to drive back to Buena Park, and we'd waited so we decided to just eat there anyway to get our event codes. By this time the store was basically empty of guests and there was no line in front of us at all so we were able to go straight to the register, but the guys managing the storefront were ushering us around for no reason. My friend was literally in the middle of signing for her order (I'm not exaggerating) when one of them told her to step aside for the next person to order. We didn't get a chance to ask if we could buy sauce or anything else because we were basically given our food (which for the event was not made to order but in prepacked bags on a table; I hope people who came after us still get hot food 'cause sheesh) and rushed out the door. What was the rush for? Why decorate the store if even during a quiet lull you won't let customers take pictures or appreciate it? The woman at the register was the only saving grace, she was friendly and informative. If we could give the service negative stars we would, but at least the woman at the counter was friendly so this one star is for her.
We felt unwelcome and rushed, and were treated like we were somehow a burden to be entering the store. Needless to say, even if the event is a limited time thing that was managed poorly, it's enough bad service that we'll be sticking to other...

Make sure you tell the person ringing you up that you want to dine in. Make it very clear that you want to dine in. If you haven't already mentioned this, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE SERVER YOU WANT TO DINE IN.
We came here for the first time and was rung up for our order. We were never asked if we wanted it take out or dine in. I do however recall the person ringing us up charging us as fast as they could. I was even a little confused as to how fast she was rushing to charge us, almost like I was a nuisance for existing in that area in front of her. After we sat down I noticed that the receipt said "take out" that's when I went to the front and tried, politely, asking if we can get dine in. I was refused and was told that the items were already boxed and they could not change it, which was weird because I still had to wait another 10mins for my already boxed food.
I was told I can go eat my food outside. They said there were some tables towards the middle of "The Source". I was also given the choice to dine in if I ordered more food. We were informed that we cannot order from this section, pointed at the fries and other smaller item, but from this section, pointed at the full meals. So then I thought, hmm I gotta order another whole $20 meal if I want the luxury of dining in. But maybe it was busy?? No, it wasn't busy, there was about 7 or 8 empty tables. So then we waited those 10mins I mentioned earlier for my already boxed food to come out.
I was pretty upset so the food tasted less than good, but give their food a try I think it might actually taste good. Everytime I go to "The Source" we always pass by Pelicana and my stomach hurts whenever I see it. It's kinda sad because the place looks cool and their menu items do too, but I just can't.
Please be better to other guests so they can fully experience the joy of going to Pelicana.
Attached is a picture of what I saw in my recent visit to "The Source". How many people do they do this to and then send them to these tables to find somewhere to eat? Ding Tea had to put signs on their table to stop people being sent from Pelicana from taking...
Read moreCan you believe that you cannot eat Pelicana Chicken at the Pelicana Chicken restaurant? My family was at the restaurant yesterday, but kicked out from there by the two lady servers. It was packed with people at Source Mall because of the World Of Dance competition and the stage was in front of the Pelicana Chicken restaurant. After hard to find parking, my wife already put on waitlist and was told to wait about 50 minutes. We were hungry, so I ordered take out because it takes only 30 minutes. Luckily about 20 minutes later out table was ready before the take out order. We sat down at the table and told lady server that we already ordered take out and we want to eat at the table. I also told her that we already paid, so I will leave the tips. I was begged(?) because of the two kids wanted eat inside. But she told me that take out food cannot eat inside table then she left. About 5 minutes later another server came with my take out order and asked us to leave. I told her that I will leave the tip, so please let us eat at the table. She stood in front of me and asked again to leave the restaurant. I don't want to argue with server anymore because I was with my kids, so I decided to leave. It was very unpleasant experience. I spent $76 and was treated like beggar at the inside restaurant. I really don't understand how do they educate the server? There are many Korean chicken restaurant and it was my first bad experience by the servers. I was wondering what if owner was there...
