With so many competing restaurants its surprising this place has so many 5 star reviews. A seating capacity of observably about 100 people, there were no more than 5 tables of 4 taken when we arrived. Not what I'd consider close to busy when our party of 8 waited patiently. After being greeted, the host took about 7 minutes to seat us, offering a high chair for my little one, (which never came, so I grabbed one while watching the host wander off to go play on her phone) I guess she had better things to do. Waitress finally came to take drink orders, and you could instantly sense the "spend all your money on our overpriced drinks" that came out of her mouth along with a hurried impression of "I know you're all just getting water anyways" when she looked up at you (side note we got water and horchatas). Not a great vibe for starters, but here goes the college try for benefit if the doubt. I opened the door with "what are any specials?" that allows the waitress a 2nd shot of ANYTHING; only came back with a reply of "none on the weekends". No recommendation, no unique items, nothing but a "are you ready to order" as we just placed drink orders. Service needs a bit of work here. -1 Star of service.

The menu here is 1 page back and front. While Mexican food is not complicated, the lack of experience shines bright here with dull food. Not that they don't use spices, but the salsa and chips tasted like Taco Bell taco sauce (red and green). Again not impressed considering the countless other Mexican food places in ALL of California. Might want to reexamine the recipes and/or try some competing food joints for tips. -1 Star for quality.

Last bit of shock was the sticker shock for such a below average restaurant. Rice, Beans, and accompaniment of entree averages $18. So cost for $1 of rice, $2 of beans, and , $5 of entree (based on what you'd expect to pay for quality/quantity of prepared & served food) has $10 of cost/profit attached. Multiply that by the party of 8, and the time it took them to serve our table and I think Lawyers charge less per hour. -1 Star for price.

Do yourself a favor, and think twice when coming here as there are a ridiculous number of other options. Though the food here was edible, so is Chipotle technically (so long as you accept the diarrhea). Then again YMMV, this is...

After being a loyal client of La Huasteca in Lynwood and even remembering walking in their restaurant while it was under construction back in the early 2000's and seeing the start of their beautiful murals being outlined, it was such a shame and bad news to know they had closed their original location. I was more than happy to see that they had open another location, and I was exited to visit. While they kept my favorite dish, we noticed that they did away with other dishes. (as well as their original yellow corn tortillas) I can understand since they have a different type of clientele. Its so hard to find authentic Southern Mexican food I wish they can still keep their original dishes or I hope that they open their original location soon. Well but here is to the 1 star review. We came here Sunday around 1pm the place was not super busy but I want to say there was people there. After waiting for a while for our food. We only got one round of chips, the server never came back to ask if we might want some more. We were a party of 7 people everyone asked for a different dish, and after waiting for a while everyone got their food except me. It became apparent that they have forgotten my order because it had been a while and everyone at my table was half done with their plate and my food had not arrived. After telling one of the servers he told us he would tell our server. Well, he never came and this other server came and brought me some rice and beans and was very apologetic for the delay. After a little while they finally brought my food and again very apologetic, but our original server never came to apologize and when we told him about the problem he try to pass us as fools telling us they make this dish from scratch, well the Chile de Nogada shall not take longer than a carne asada because this is not the first time I had order this dish. I always order this dish. I was truly disappointed at their service, and I hope that management can train their staff. We can understand that the tip was charged upfront because it was a party of 7 but to be honest this server does not deserve a tip since his service was horrible. I do hope they open their original...

Last Night I went out with my wife, children and parents at your Buena Park location. We had a party of 11 and were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant was about 80% full when we were shown to the table.

The dinner started off great. Our server was quick and attentive.

Once our order was taken we waited a full 45 minutes for our food to begin to be delivered. Of the 11 entrees we were expecting three were delivered with a 5 minute gap for 7 more of the entrees. Our 11th dish was not delivered for another 10 minutes. We sent it back as we were very frustrated with how the evening was going, and had split up our other dinners to make up for the fact that one of us didn’t have food at the table.

Between the time our order was taken and our food being delivered, our server did not check in with us or offer any explanation as to the delay. Furthermore, after most of our food was delivered we didn’t see her again until the check was delivered. I had to go to the front and ask the gentleman working the podium to deliver the check, to which he replied, “just a minute....”. As if we’d not been delayed enough already.

Outside of the bartender, who was attentive and responsive when we flagged him down, the service was the worst I can recall paying for.

Adding on to very poor service, our food was cool, bland and generally unimpressive.

We were overcharged on our Check when it was delivered. By that point we were so fed up with the food and service that we didn’t bother to even talk about the $25 gratuity that was added on to our bill for service that absolutely did not deserve it.

I’ve worked in restaurants as a host, busboy, dishwasher and waiter for more than 15 years. I saw that your server was deep in the weeds and was pretty chill about the whole thing until our dinner came out, cold, in parts, and not completely. There was no acknowledgement from any of the staff that there was anything wrong.

Every part of their operation failed tonight, save one,...

Every now & then, my bf and I try something new other than Asian foods. Heard this spot was really popular in the Source, so we had to try it out. Parking: There’s a free parking structure. Finding a spot can be a hit or miss. There are compact parking spots, so be careful. Ambiance/Environment: This spot is located in the Source on the 3rd floor. They have a large space with plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Perfect for groups of all sizes. It’s a casual spot with great music. There’s live entertainment on Fridays & Sundays. They also offer happy hour during the weekdays @2-6pm. Service: Everyone was welcoming, courteous, and efficient! Special shout out to Johnny! He took great care of us! Our waters were constantly filled and empty plates removed. What we ordered: 1) Trio Enchiladas - I ordered chicken enchiladas, and it came with 3 drenched in salsa Huasteca, salsa Potosina, and Mole Poblano sprinkled with cotija cheese. This was also served with rice, beans, & pico. Not only were the colors of the sauces vibrant, but they were also mouthwatering! The enchiladas were cooked well and easy to eat. 2) Tacos - Asada, Quesabirria, and Al Pastor. These were all delicious. My favorite was the Quesabirria. The consomé wasn’t too spicy and very smoky! The asada & al pastor were flavorful! 3) Al Gusto - Shrimp and white rice with zarandeado. This was spicccyyy! I love the flavors of the sauce. There was a generous amount of shrimps! 4) Molcajete Azteca - Steak, chicken, pork, shrimps, chorizo, grilled cactus, panela cheese, pickled red onions, & their Molcajete sauce in a large rock stone. This was also served with rice, beans, pico, & tortillas x2. This was HUGE! Everything was absolutely mouthwatering! Make sure to drench everything in the Molcajete sauce to give it more flavor. Pricing: Definitely worth the price $$$. Dishes are large and shareable. The vibes and staff were amazing. We left satisfied and fulfilled!

Craving authentic Mexican cuisine, we decided to visit La Huasteca at The Source in Buena Park. Looking for something beyond the usual fare, we noticed a nearby table being served a dish that immediately caught our attention—Molcajete Azteca. Presented in a heated stone bowl, this dish was a beautiful medley of seafood delights, including shrimp, octopus, fish fillets, and panela cheese, all simmered in their signature savory sauce. Though the flavor leaned a bit spicy for our personal taste, it was undeniably delicious and paired perfectly with the accompanying rice, beans, and warm corn tortillas. We chose to sit on the outdoor patio since the interior dining area was bustling and rather noisy. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our table left something to be desired; even after being wiped down, it still felt a bit dirty of dried bird feces. When we politely requested a more thorough cleaning, the waitress responded with a slight attitude, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant dining experience. That said, the service from our main waiter was attentive and courteous, balancing out the earlier interaction. Overall, despite this minor hiccup, the standout dish and enjoyable atmosphere made for a satisfying meal. We’d be open to returning, especially to try other unique offerings from their menu.

First time here. First off a unique restaurant considering it’s at the source which seems to be mostly Asian themed. It was a pleasant surprise/experience, located on the top floor. The floor plan was thoughtfully designed. It wasn’t cramped or forced together while still maximizing sitting. The ambience was inviting and friendly with staff reflecting equally. Chips were crisp and lightly salted and salsa was fresh, flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. Guacamole was fresh chunky and expertly made( although in my personal opinion, needed a little salt) We also ordered a carnitas burrito and shrimp burrito, both wet- the carnitas had great flavor with the combination of beans and rice making for a excellent meal, getting it wet was just the thing needed to give it even more flavor. The shrimp burrito was excellent but the first order came with a bit of meat inside which rendered it inedible for my girl, (she doesn’t eat meat) but upon discovery of this mistake the staff took it back and made her a new meat free burrito, and it didn’t even take as long as the first round of food. My girl was not even offended after the mistake and once done responded with, we’ll be back. So overall a great experience and delicious meals. Thanks
