Visited dPot for the first time a few days ago and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived at around 5pm and you join the waitlist using the ipad they have placed by the door. Once the table is ready, they send you a text message and call you to notify you. Their menu selection is great, on one side of the menu, they have the shabu shabu selection (select the meat, type of broth and type of noodle). I picked lamb with their beef-based broth and fresh ramen. The veggies, noodles and meat are served in a tower (similar to the tower display at afternoon tea places).
On the other side of the menu, they have their steamers, korean soups and shareable appetizers.
My sister and husband picked the steamers, which is something we have never seen at any other restaurant. The meat for the steamer is served in a bamboo box, which is placed on your individual burner; the staff leaves a timer to make sure that the meat is cooked to perfection; along with the meat, the steamer also comes with porridge, steamed rice, udon noodles and salad. They were very happy with their dish.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back to try their...
Read moreDisappointing: I had been wanting to go try a hot pot place and we were nearby and decided to stop here. It was our first time trying a place like this and we were asking for help, it was pretty straight forward but as a vegetarian I chose the non meat option and was going for a spicy pork broth which I am ok with but the waiter suggested the veggie broth and I reluctantly agreed, my boyfriend had meat with spicy pork broth. I am pretty sure I added the dipping sauces to my broth and it still only tasted like water when I asked if I should be adding something else they said that what I had added was fine and that it tasted like water because it was just veggies, but my boyfriend’s spicy pork broth tasted only like spicy water. I ended up not eating most of it and unsatisfied we drove to the nearest in-n-out. Maybe it’s just not our type of food but definitely deterred us from trying any other hot pot again at least...
Read moreI had a weird experience on Saturday with my family. We get to the restaurant and the waiter instructs us only vegetables are all you can eat. After finishing our portion, we order more meat and veggies and the manager informs us that the waiter is new and made a mistake by telling us veggies are all you can eat ; it's actually $7 for both plates (new menu also states veggies are all you can eat). We take his word for it and order the veggies and meat anyway and get one of the veggie plates and meat right away and 10 min later the manager tells me they're busy but insures us that we will get our plate soon; another 10 minutes goes by and the manager shows up again and tells me that the other plate will cost an extra $2. Now I just feel like they're nickle and diming me, so I tell him that's bs and finished my meal and left 0 tip for the first...
