Shelley York and Gabe (Managers of Kohls) I went to Kohls of Buena Park this morning. I was looking for specific items for my daughter’s birthday. I was at the Juniors department looking for Harry Potter clothes and accessories. A lot of store associates were on that area. I guess they were busy putting out stocks of clothes for they were even at the aisle folded and hanged ready to put out in that department. First, I can’t find any of the Harry Potter shirts even if I know where exactly to look for it. They were supposedly at the area with licensed character shirts, there’s photos of it at the rack. Then I realized maybe there’s an area for all Harry Potter clothes like sweatshirts and sweatpants. I was able to find that area. Just to make sure, I approached one of the associate and asked if there’s another area for that. She was busy organizing the clothes from the rack that was on the aisle. She said that’s all they have. So okay she didn’t even bothered to ask what was I looking for or something because she’s too busy! I looked for it myself while looking at my phone browsing at the Kohls website. There’s another associate working on organizing the clothes and putting out the merchandise. She was beside and around me the whole time and again didn’t even bothered asking me what I was looking for. She even looks mad at me for taking the time on that specific area and browsing through the folded clothes! Like I’m on her way or she will be folding and organizing the area that I was at! But the whole time I was there, she’s also busy talking to her associate who passed by! They were 3 of them! They’re talking about being busy throughout the day restocking clothes! Like they were tons of stocks and deliveries that they need to organize! They were literally talking about it beside me and in front of me while I’m looking for the items I want! And then the 4th person and associate came, I know she’s the supervisor or lead in that department for she’s the one telling them what to do and organize. So I approached her, thinking since she’s the supervisor or something she’ll help me and know what to do. Wow! I don’t know if she’s that busy or trained not to take her customers seriously if she’s in the middle of something like telling her associates/team in that department on what to do. I asked her while showing the item from the Kohls website that I was looking for it but it said “Limited Availability” at this store. I was not even finished to what I am going to say but she’s like “that’s our Harry Potter” while pointing at the shelves where I was also looking at. And that’s it! No further help, conversations. “that’s our Harry Potter” period! She even looked at me like I was already in front of it to be asking, with a mad face like I am disturbing her over an item that I should probably know the answer! We shop at Kohls! We know what’s “Limited availability”. It’s either you have one o the floor, at the back and if not, someone probably holding it while still shopping that’s why it’s still available! But not! She didn’t bother helping me! She did not even let me finish what I am going to ask after showing it from my phone! Once she saw and heard the “Limited availability” like she’s trained to shut people out by just pointing to whatever they have, end of conversation! The associate she was talking to was holding a thing where you could search if you have that item at the store! I know the item number for I was about to ask that afterwards but with that look on her face and just pointing at the area and then continued her conversation with the associate, do you think I’ll ask again about the item with the information that I have? So I went ahead and looked for it myself! She saw me still looking for it but she just left after talking to the associate and that associate is kind a like waiting for me to finish looking for the item because I’m on her way and she needs to put something on the shelves where I was at! And guess what? I found it! You have the item! Looked for it without any help for...

Before leaving, I made a purchase and the sales associate who helped me had outstanding customer service qualities. As I approached the checkout the sales associate directed me to her location. She was smiling and greeted me. She asked if I found everything I needed and I felt she was truly interested in helping me. I had difficulty bringing up coupons on my phone and she displayed patience while I struggled finding them. Since there was no line I was able to share conversation while she rang up my item, once the coupon was found. When complete I thanked her and asked for her name so I could leave her positive feedback on my experience. She was surprised and thanked me then said it was her first day. I was extremely surprised as I would have never known. I previously owned 2 retail businesses and she was so professional I was surprised when she told me. Kohls is fortunate to have an employee like LaDona. She made my shopping experience a pleasure and when I return I hope she will be the one to assist me again. 5 STARS
UPDATE TO 4 STARS: March 5, 2025....................... I went to the Buena Park store Mar 3, to use $15 Kohls cash. I found out that because Kohls sents me $10 Kohls cash via email, if I were to return an item, with receipt or not, the $10 would not be carried over to the replacement purchasec even if it were an equal exchange for wrong size. (I don't always have time to try on clothes). I also learned that Customer Service is now at the registers and Amazon has taken over the previous Customer Service area. As a previous business owner, I don't see how this will save time or having fewer employees on any given day. Due to my concern and time involved with my purchase, the cashier needed to call for assistance. Moving on, my Kohls card for some reason had to be updated and it required me to enter my SS# into the credit card machine. I'm not comfortable with that, considering the potential problem with identify theft. I went home to see about the update and had an email from Kohls to update. Surprised....I found out Kohls has likely partnered with Capital One Bank and the only way to have a Kohls card update is to have a Capital One Bank card. For me I have to pass. I now realize why Kohls had announcements playing in the store offering 40% off to open a NEW Kohls account, the day I was shopping. I'll still shop, if I need items, just won't be using my Kohls card anymore. I was assisted by Gidget who reflected a friendly demeanor and was extremely patient during this experience. DROP FROM...
Read morePlace is big like most Kohl's location. It was clean overall but noticed many sizes on certain items were not available. But you can use the kiosk to order or use their website. I went here to do an Amazon item return which is located on the back area from the front entrance. Line went pretty fast even though there was only 1 person or station doing all the returns. I had some Kohl's cash so did a little shopping. Has a pretty good selection for all types of clothing and prices are good if you take advantage of offers and promotions but full retail seems a bit pricey. Quality isn't the best so I suggest looking at the stitching or alignment of embellishments when picking out an item to buy. The register line was pretty long but they have 2 different areas to checkout and with multiple cashiers, the line went by pretty fast. They even have a line marker that gives you a 10 minute estimate at a certain point in the line so helps feel like the employees are beating the time expectations. Parking wasn't an issue even though it was busy. And place seemed more cleaner and more organized than other locations I've been to. I recommend this location more than the...
