After reading mixed reviews online, I decided to go forward with booking our one night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, to make it easier for our family of 6 to get to our activities in Buena Park.

Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome and were extremely cordial. I believe it was Christina and another kind lady, worked with us to accommodate our request of our 2 rooms being near each other. We arrived in the early afternoon and although we were unable to get an early check in, they did not mind us hanging around in their comfortable lounge, where we brought back some lunch from Starbucks, which was directly next door. Additionally, they let the kids access the pool while waiting.

Upon entering the room, the kids loved the suite, as it had the nice size living space, with a pull out couch, and the other room had the beds. We didn't have any extra sheets or blankets and within minutes of calling to the front desk, they were delivered. The rooms were great, each had a minifridge in them, coffee makers and for sure the suite had a microwave in it.

We had show reservations at Medieval Times, which was right across the street, so this was an excellent location if headed there or the Pirate's Dinner (both are directly across the street). The next day, we enjoyed the 10 min walk to and from Knotts Berry Farm, again proving to be in a convenient location.

Our only hiccup was on our end, not being able to easily secure transportation via a single taxi to Anaheim for our next few nights stay. However, the gentleman working that evening, I believe Devin, gave it a valiant try! He called multiple companies and even other hotels, trying to find a large size taxi and kept us updated on the timeline. He went above and beyond to try to help us. His customer service was top notch! All the while, we overtook another large portion of their lobby and they were completely accommodating to us!

I am not sure if I have ever taken the time to write a review before, but the staff at the Courtyard went above and beyond and if you are travel to the area, I highly recommend...

Upon checking in, I was greeted by an associate named (Julis) who is probably the most unprofessional customer service rep I have ever encountered in my life. I had a 2 queen bed reserved and asked the agent if they have a king and sofa bed available instead. The associate checked and responded they do and he will not be able to change my reservation and that I will have to cancel and rebook it under a king and a sofa bed. This is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, when simply requested to be changed to a king bed instead of 2 queen despite the room being available. His excuse for not making the switch was the system is outdated and doesn't allow him to make the switch. I was not even asking for an upgrade, and I have been a gold elite member for years which really makes me wonder if it really means anything to Marriott ( which has only upgraded me once in the last 2 years, but thats another subject). It was around 10:30 and my kids were sleep and this associate was being extremely difficult to speak with so I requested to speak with a manager and the response I got was "I don't think its necessary to involve a manager", I did not want to drag this any longer so I just checked into the room and following day spoke with the assistant manager (Richard) who said his actions were totally inappropriate and offered to switch the room which was too late for me as I was already settled into the room. Upon departing I spoke with the general manager (Claudious) explaining him was transpired and he did acknowledge that it was inappropriate for Julis to act that way, but he will have to speak with the rep to confirm his side of the story. I have not received any apology from the associate or any feedback that the rep has been disciplined. Hotel needs upgrades as it is...

This has to be the worst hotel in history. Marriott should not have their name attached to this facility. The City of Buena Park will be contacted because their not up to code and the rooms smell like smoke and mildew mixed in one. The AC is basically blowing out mold, they have spider webs in their room ceiling, the shower ceiling is full of mold, the strips on the walls are peeling off, and we had to move rooms twice and was still not satisfied because it was just horrible Trust me. the tables were so dirty as well the chairs had to be wiped down with disinfectant wipes and we had to buy air freshener to spray the room, the floors are full of dirt like literally dirt please wear shoes! I’m not sure why on vacation I had to purchase anything to clean a room. My allergies were off the chain at the hotel and if I’ve read the reviews sooner I’d never book here. Being the hotel is near close these beautiful attractions you would expect better; however, by far it doesn’t amount to those beautiful attractions. I’d never in a million years recommend anyone to stay here EVER. Please, if you have kids and just want to feel relaxed while on vacation avoid this hotel one hundred percent! The lobby is the only attractive thing, because when you enter the rooms it’s a disaster waiting to happen. I’m so dissatisfied, disappointed, unhappy and felt let down by Marriott coming all the way from Florida and having a nightmare stay at this hotel. They deserve zero stars (-0) but as we all know in order to give reviews one star is necessary:( I’m so unhappy and I’m back home taking allergy medication (never had too) WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I’ll be doting pictures shortly, I’m not kidding worst hotel in history this is America we should not pay for...

I went to this hotel from across America for vacation. A purpose of a vacation was to relax, something the hotel failed to succeed. I’ve spent for over a week at the hotel. Our first day, we had to switch rooms since the conditioner was leaking and it had a bad smell. I did mind it but it wasn’t extreme. The second day in our second room we found countless bugs and we moved after two days of staying there. Finally, in my third hotel room we found a very dirty carpet and the mattresses were old. During our time there, my two children got both a throat infection and a ear infection from the pool. They told me that they found Cheeto bags and the pool was very dirty. The pain that they had to go through was unbearable. The day after I informed the hotel about the infections they cleaned it for the first time. Also, the restroom fan from the first two rooms were broken and made our rooms smell horrible. The cleaning service had to be called for them to clean, they sometimes wouldn’t show up or just give us towels. We spoke to them and they made it about Covid, but the first three days in the rooms, Covid wasn’t a problem or when they would show up sometimes when asked. My experience was horrible considering I’ve paid on average 190-200 a night for over a week. I would never recommend this hotel nor ever step foot in it again. Throughout my stay I was deeply disappointed and very uncomfortable considering we had to move countless times. The money was not worth the stay, or my time.

I recently stayed at Courtyard Anaheim Buena Park and I have a few problems with it. First, I had request to the hotel in advance that I wanted the room far from the elevator. They promised that they lock up the room for me, but when I got to the room, it was near the elevator. Second, all the stuffs that I had requested in advanced where not provided in my room. Third, there is no bar soap anywhere at the sink. I had to request for that and a few other items to be send up to my room. However, when the housekeeping come up, he only brought me the bar soap, but not the rest of the items that I had requested. Fourth, there were a bunch of dust and hairs in the bathtub when we first got to the room, which is pretty gross. Later on during the night, the water start to fill up in the tub even though nobody using it. Lastly, around 1 AM, there was suddenly a water noise outside near our balcony. I went out and see what was going on and it turned out there was a huge water leak shoot up in the sky like a waterfall. It last for about 30 mins and then it stopped, which I find very bothersome. The TV in our room also been giving us issue from time to time. It keep going off to the blank screen. Lastly, they do charge you $10 per vehicle just to park your car there. I had stayed at other Marriot hotels before and I never had all the issues mention. I will definitely not be coming back to this hotel for sure. Stay away people!!

We were in town for a dance competition and this was the host hotel. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered in a Marriott property. This brand is my hotel of choice so to say I was beyond disappointed is an understatement. The entire hotel was filthy and wreaked of smoke and stale air. The first suite I checked into was unbearable. The second suite was not much better. My only choice was to go to the Target next door and buy Clorox, Lysol, and other cleaning supplies and deodorizers and clean the room myself. The microwave and refrigerator were disgusting. Dried, caked on food and splatters all over. Dust everywhere. Splatters on the faucet, sink, and mirror. The tub looked as though someone had stood in it with muddy shoes. Even after cleaning , the tub was still stained. I bought comforters that my daughter and I used to sleep on top of the bed, sleeping bag style. Luckily I bought Raid and sprayed the room because there were huge roaches and spiders all around. Unfortunately this led to DEAD bugs in our room. When I complained, the desk clerk said "I'm sorry" and offered me stale snacks. Calling the front desk for service was futile so the only recourse was to go to the front desk or catch a housekeeper in the halls. Customer service is not at the forefront for the staff. This property is severely dated and neglected and definitely reflects poorly on the Marriott brand.
