After reading mixed reviews online, I decided to go forward with booking our one night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, to make it easier for our family of 6 to get to our activities in Buena Park.
Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome and were extremely cordial. I believe it was Christina and another kind lady, worked with us to accommodate our request of our 2 rooms being near each other. We arrived in the early afternoon and although we were unable to get an early check in, they did not mind us hanging around in their comfortable lounge, where we brought back some lunch from Starbucks, which was directly next door. Additionally, they let the kids access the pool while waiting.
Upon entering the room, the kids loved the suite, as it had the nice size living space, with a pull out couch, and the other room had the beds. We didn't have any extra sheets or blankets and within minutes of calling to the front desk, they were delivered. The rooms were great, each had a minifridge in them, coffee makers and for sure the suite had a microwave in it.
We had show reservations at Medieval Times, which was right across the street, so this was an excellent location if headed there or the Pirate's Dinner (both are directly across the street). The next day, we enjoyed the 10 min walk to and from Knotts Berry Farm, again proving to be in a convenient location.
Our only hiccup was on our end, not being able to easily secure transportation via a single taxi to Anaheim for our next few nights stay. However, the gentleman working that evening, I believe Devin, gave it a valiant try! He called multiple companies and even other hotels, trying to find a large size taxi and kept us updated on the timeline. He went above and beyond to try to help us. His customer service was top notch! All the while, we overtook another large portion of their lobby and they were completely accommodating to us!
I am not sure if I have ever taken the time to write a review before, but the staff at the Courtyard went above and beyond and if you are travel to the area, I highly recommend...
Read moreUpon checking in, I was greeted by an associate named (Julis) who is probably the most unprofessional customer service rep I have ever encountered in my life. I had a 2 queen bed reserved and asked the agent if they have a king and sofa bed available instead. The associate checked and responded they do and he will not be able to change my reservation and that I will have to cancel and rebook it under a king and a sofa bed. This is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, when simply requested to be changed to a king bed instead of 2 queen despite the room being available. His excuse for not making the switch was the system is outdated and doesn't allow him to make the switch. I was not even asking for an upgrade, and I have been a gold elite member for years which really makes me wonder if it really means anything to Marriott ( which has only upgraded me once in the last 2 years, but thats another subject). It was around 10:30 and my kids were sleep and this associate was being extremely difficult to speak with so I requested to speak with a manager and the response I got was "I don't think its necessary to involve a manager", I did not want to drag this any longer so I just checked into the room and following day spoke with the assistant manager (Richard) who said his actions were totally inappropriate and offered to switch the room which was too late for me as I was already settled into the room. Upon departing I spoke with the general manager (Claudious) explaining him was transpired and he did acknowledge that it was inappropriate for Julis to act that way, but he will have to speak with the rep to confirm his side of the story. I have not received any apology from the associate or any feedback that the rep has been disciplined. Hotel needs upgrades as it is...
Read moreThis has to be the worst hotel in history. Marriott should not have their name attached to this facility. The City of Buena Park will be contacted because their not up to code and the rooms smell like smoke and mildew mixed in one. The AC is basically blowing out mold, they have spider webs in their room ceiling, the shower ceiling is full of mold, the strips on the walls are peeling off, and we had to move rooms twice and was still not satisfied because it was just horrible Trust me. the tables were so dirty as well the chairs had to be wiped down with disinfectant wipes and we had to buy air freshener to spray the room, the floors are full of dirt like literally dirt please wear shoes! I’m not sure why on vacation I had to purchase anything to clean a room. My allergies were off the chain at the hotel and if I’ve read the reviews sooner I’d never book here. Being the hotel is near close these beautiful attractions you would expect better; however, by far it doesn’t amount to those beautiful attractions. I’d never in a million years recommend anyone to stay here EVER. Please, if you have kids and just want to feel relaxed while on vacation avoid this hotel one hundred percent! The lobby is the only attractive thing, because when you enter the rooms it’s a disaster waiting to happen. I’m so dissatisfied, disappointed, unhappy and felt let down by Marriott coming all the way from Florida and having a nightmare stay at this hotel. They deserve zero stars (-0) but as we all know in order to give reviews one star is necessary:( I’m so unhappy and I’m back home taking allergy medication (never had too) WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I’ll be doting pictures shortly, I’m not kidding worst hotel in history this is America we should not pay for...
