First, I do want to say that the delivery team (Jack and Jerrick) were exceptional. They were courteous, prompt, and professional. I was very happy with their service.
I have purchased furniture from American Signature many times in the past and have never had a problem. This time, I knew what I wanted so I ordered it online. The day before delivery I received the confirmation call that said my furniture would be delivered between 8:15 and 10:15. I had cleared my day and took off from work in anticipation of the delivery, but had to bring my son to camp and could not be home until 8:30. I asked for her to please make note of this. She said that it was automated and could not be changed. I asked when the next available delivery day was so that I could ensure that I would be here during the entire delivery window and she said that the truck was already loaded and routed, and to please have someone at the house who is 18 or older. I said that I would do my best. Thankfully, they ended up arriving at 9:00; however, when they arrived I found out that they only had he headboard and footboard of my bed and that the rest would arrive in 4 days. I had received no prior notification of this. I had already completely disassembled my old bed in preparation for the delivery and will now be sleeping in a mattress on the floor for 4 nights. Additionally, I had to store the pieces of the bed that had already arrived. The only place I had available to do this is our garage, which my 4 children are constantly in and out of with their bicycles. At this time, our garage is also filled with our old furniture which is being picked up later this week. I also noticed stains on the fabric on the footboard. Jack kindly tried to remove them, but they would not come out. I called customer service because I am not happy about the inconvenience about this situation. She offered me half of the delivery fee as a refund, which I appreciate, but still does not make up for the hassle of the situation. The delivery fee is about a third of what the bed cost and I paid it for the convenience of having the bed delivered and assembled easily. Instead, I am missing two days of work, sleeping on a mattress on the floor, and worrying about my children knocking down the headboard and footboard in the garage. My husband called the local store yesterday to as for a replacement footboard to be sent together with the rails on Saturday so that we would not have to schedule a third delivery day. He spoke with two different people and was told that a manager would return his phone call. Theee hours later, and he still did not receive the phone call. He had to call back and ask to speak to the manager. They are shipping out a new footboard and delivering it on Saturday. We will have our entire bed in a few days, but we most certainly did not receive the convenience that we paid for. I am also very confused as to why the entire delivery could not take place on one day and why we had to have half delivered in advance. It would have been much easier for the whole bed to arrive together on Saturday.
The bed IS beautiful and we have always been happy with the quality of American Signature Furniture. It is just very frustrating to have the process of actually getting it into our home to be so difficult. It seems that the online ordering system is not very efficient at this time. Read moreI am rating this store 1 star because I can't give it 0. The original sales woman was wonderful. I went to pick up my pieces of furniture, due to 99 dollar delivery charge for 1 item (no assembly req), and the doors were locked and closed. I banged on doors for 5 minutes until someone opened the door for me. Rang the bell at the desk for help x2 and someone showed up who was nice and assisted in loading piece into my truck. When I made it home and was ready to open the box, this is where it begins.
The furniture was damaged. The leg was split right down the middle. I called the service desk at the store and informed her of the situation. I informed her i had purchased the 5 year care package as well. She told me that I had to bring the furniture back in and exchange it. I already picked up the furniture once, now they sold me broken furniture and I must take time out of another day to fix up for their damaged goods. I told her that they should deliver the new piece and pick up the damaged one since they sold me damaged goods. She informed me she would speak with a manager and call me back in 30 minutes. My phone has yet to ring 4 hours later.
I went in to see them and address the problem in person. I walked in and salesman was great. He asked me how he could help and directed me to customer service. When I went to customer service, I explained the situation and how the lady never called me back. The lady who was with him suddenly left as well as the manager who just finished handling another customers problem. I figured they were the ones I was waiting to get a call from 4 hours later. The service rep was arrogant, cocky, and not sympathetic. He informed me they he received a damaged piece and I informed him I received it not him. He told me it is posted everywhere it's the customers problem if it is damaged and they must handle exchange themselves. The salesman said that's how they push delivery. Wow even the employees know the scam. The customer service and furniture is horrible.
He stated he would not deliver the new piece and pick up the old one unless I paid 99 dollars. I had to pay for their damaged goods. He informed me the new piece would be in Thursday. I told him I could not pick it up until Saturday or later. He told me no problem. I told him it says on reciept if I can't pick it up on day scheduled there is a 15% restocking fee. He told me that isn't true but it says it just like the customer is responsible for returning damaged goods. My friend ordered a table and 4 chairs and 3 of the chairs were damaged. I should have learned from his mistakes. I will NEVER buy furniture from them again due to damaged goods and terrible customer service. If I treated people this way, I would be looking for work. Read moreI had a 5 star experience with the sales team at American Signature. I am only giving 3 stars because of the attempted sneaky tactics by the ACCEPTANCE NOW finance department. The women I dealt with tried adding $200 of OPTIONAL insurance without ever offering it to me. It was a 120 day same as cash deal they were running. 120 days equals 4 months ie four payments. I made a payment there and when she showed me the payment schedule there were 5 payments to be made. I guess she didn't expect me to break out the calculator because when I did the payments were about $200 more than the quote I received from the salesman. When I asked her why she skirted around the answer. I again told her she needs to slowly explain to me why the balance with her was so much more and her response was "I can take the insurance off"... Um WHAT INSURANCE?? She explained it was in case I could not make the payments if I was hospitalized. She never once offered me that insurance she just tried to sneak it in, obviously!. I was so upset that I decided to not do the deal with her and just pay American Sig outright for what I wanted. She then didn't want to explain to explain to the AS person why it was all messed up in the system and tells her that she will have me pay her fully the same price it would be with AS and she would then pay off AS. I still had to give her my business. I am very familiar with customer service and sales so it's pretty hard to sneak one past me, especially when the numbers do not add up. I called in the complaint and was told her District Manager would be calling me within 48hrs and I never received the call, its been over a week, so therefore I am leaving this review. I really did not want to put so much on my credit card but It was the principle that made me do it. It would have helped my credit by taking advantage of the 120 same as cash deal, but because of her dishonesty and sneaky tactics she has made my credit score DROP for having such a balance on my card. If I cannot pay off what I want I will not go back into that store and all because of the ACCEPTANCE NOW representative. Which is a shame because I have so much more to buy on top of the 4 living room sets and 2 bedroom sets I have purchased throughout the many years. IF YOU DECIDE TO USE ACCEPTANCE NOW BRING YOUR CALCULATOR and make sure the price the salesman will give you (delivery fee and taxes included) matches what they will charge you, with the exception of their $40 processing fee.
