I went into the brand new one in Cape Coral seven times now. The place is beautiful. The breads are good and flavorful there is a pretty nice selection but yet the place remains empty. The lady running the register is really not a warm and fuzzy person and if you ask me is not the person to be the face of the business. She's not friendly she's not terribly helpful and if you ask me does more harm than good. It's kind of weird when you order a bagel with butter they just throw a bagel in the bag and you have to go find your own butter but nobody tells you that. I had two choices for my eggs on a bagel was scrambled or sunny-side up. When I questioned The Sunny Side Up can I get over medium I was abruptly told no by the cashier buy choices were scrambled and sunny side up. It was obvious to me that they don't really cook those eggs on a grill in the store. What a shame. They make this beautiful place they have all of this appetizing stuff, it's a pretty big breakfast type of place I don't understand why they do such a poor job of it. When I'm the only person in line I still have to wait for someone to take my order and then wait for the food. The service is very slow. If they would get their act together this place has real potential and could be...
Read moreDisappointed again. I went to the Pine Island Road Panera today and found they'd remodeled. The warm colors are gone and repainted a bland color. The art is gone, nothing on the walls. The couches and booths have been removed and replaced with tables and chairs, and there are too many, the dining area is crowded now. And, the new chairs are barely padded and very uncomfortable. Drink station is now smaller and they moved all the sweeteners away from the iced teas and drinks, you now have to cross the dining area to the coffee station for sweeteners. Poor planning and bad decisions. My steak and arugula sandwich was served on baguette but the piece of baguette was very small. The baguette that came as a side was considerably larger. I should have deconstructed the sandwich and moved everything to the larger baguette but thought of it too late. Two pic-2's, two large drinks, two muffies for home and a small tip came to $40 for lunch and neither meal was worth anywhere near what we spent. This Panera has been going down-hill for some time and just seems to be getting worse and worse. The downtown Cape Coral Panera is a much better choice. I miss the old Panera, this new version is sub-standard and I'm done wasting my money there. We...
Read moreWow! What a great experience. I ordered the avocado, tomato, multigrain bagel flat, minus the egg white, minus the spinach and minus the cheese. Being able to get this, alone, is a blessing (apparently this isn't possible at the Page Field store). Then, when I went into the store to pick it up everyone was SO NICE: A gentleman at the counter, who seemed to be somewhat new, and a young woman with blonde hair (I wish I had gotten her name) who appeared to be in management because she wore a different shirt, also another woman at the counter. My breakfast sandwich wasn't ready so I asked if they had hummus on their breakfast menu. I told them it would be great to have a schmear of hummus on my breakfast sandwich and they didn't hesitate to get it done (apparently this isn't possible in Naples). It was SO GOOD, just like I would make at home. THANK YOU Cape Coral/Pine Island Morning Team, y'all made my morning! Other Paneras could learn a lot from...
