Cap’n Danny worked diligently with us to ensure that we were able to set up a date and time where we’d have the best chance of catching fish and was able to schedule us with Cap’n Dillan, who did NOT disappoint! He was very knowledgeable about what types of fish we’d be fishing for and where they were, as well as sharing his apparent respect for the nature and beauty of the fish! His enthusiasm was contagious! After catching quite a few sand and speckled trout (I also caught a catfish!!! but it wasn’t a keeper). He then took us in to try to catch a triple tail (we’d never heard of them) and we almost caught a HUGE one - it would have been the biggest fish my hubbie had ever brought in, but watching the struggle was exciting (well, for me, him not so much - LOL)! On the plus side, we now have a great “the one that got away story.” He also gave my husband and I great fishing technique tips. We had an incredible time fishing with Captain Dillon Allen and Southern Salt Charters in Cedar Key on Wednesday, October 15. From start to finish, Dillon made the experience fun, relaxing, and successful! He was knowledgeable about the area and knew exactly where to find the fish. We caught plenty and learned a few new tricks along the way.

The boat was clean and comfortable, and Dillon was patient and great with everyone on board—whether you’re experienced or just starting out, he makes sure everyone has a great time. The scenery around Cedar Key was beautiful, and the whole day felt like a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

We couldn’t have asked for a better trip and can’t wait to go out again with Southern Salt Charters. Highly recommend booking with Captain Dillon if you want a top-notch...

Captain Danny Allen is AWESOME!!! At the insistence of family, I reluctantly agree to go out on a 3 day fishing tour with Southern Salt Charters. I had never been on a charter boat before due to motion sickness and the fear of looking like a complete idiot. Captain Danny did a wonderful job of helping me to feel comfortable. He is serious about the fishing and at the same time is easy to talk to with a great sense of humor. He never made me feel stupid, he baited my hooks, threw out my lines and talked me thru reeling in a couple of whoppers. This allowed my husband to fish and not be aggravated with me - lol. I HIGHLY recommend Danny. He works hard to find where the fish are and he ensures that everyone has a great time.
