Rude Manager / Employee (Old Blonde Lady in heels)
Let me start by saying, I don't have an issue with Aldi itself, as someone who worked at the Kirkwood location for over 2 years, It's been my go to grocery store.
Today (8/11) when I was shopping at this location I did my usual routine of finding an empty or near empty box to store my groceries in while I shopped. See a large box with 3 items left in it (plastic cups in plastic wrap, not food) and place them on the shelf exactly where they were when I was immediately approached and scolded by the old blonde manager saying "Nope! Nope! Put that box right back" and so on and so forth so I look at her confused and say "okay do you know where I can find the box cart?" to which she replied "Idk it might be around but NEVER take items out of the box". When I worked at the Kirkwood location we were never told to not allow customers to take them nor did we ever give anyone a hard time because it just meant less boxes for us to collect and compact in the bailer in the back. If this is a new policy, fine, you could have nicely said please don't take that and I would have gladly put it back.
Continue walking around trying to find the box cart, couldn't find it, go back to the original box of cups and decide to just buy whats left of them and take the whole box so I look at her and tell her I'm buying these. I continue to walk off and notice she's following me around to see if I'm going to ditch the cups, tell her again I'm buying these.
Go to self checkout, notice she's a few feet away probably watching to see if I was going to ditch the cups, tried scanning my grapes, couldn't find the barcode so I look them up in the system. As I'm looking them up she comes up and rudely goes "NO, no, nope you have to scan them", tell her I can't find a barcode and ask if she knows the code for them, tells me I need to go get a different one and then she noticed the tiniest possible barcode and told me to scan it.
I don't understand what her issue was with me or where the attitude came from, but from reading the rest of these reviews I can tell she's been a problem with multiple people. Not once in my 6 years of shopping at Aldi have I ever run into this issue, nor did I ever have a manager while working at Aldi with this...
Read moreClean store, usually a great place to shop but I would advise against using their online pickup or delivery service. I placed an order on the Aldi app and found it strange that I didn’t receive any notifications about my order all morning. So I went to the app again to check, then called the corporate line which simply redirects me to the website (genius) and decided to stop by the store to double check. I was informed by the associate that there was a system wide issue with the online ordering. I ask how to get my refund, I’m redirected back to the app again. The option to cancel the order is not available. I am then told to call the corporate number…here we are again back at square one. I am not going to bash the associate because she was not rude to me BUT it felt like there were no real solutions offered in this situations and now I’m down $91 for absolutely no reason. Groceries are way too expensive for a store to play with our money like this. As a loyal customer who loves the products and prices, this has me thinking about never returning again. There needs to be a better system put in place to address customer issues on the spot and no, not with a phone number that leads you back to the...
Read moreWhile shopping, my wife was approached by the store manager Natasha. Shocking, she proceeded to bump into my wife as she walked pass. When my wife addressed the situation, Natasha told her, This is not walmart or target, and if you say something again, you will not be able to shop here." This behavior was completely unprofessional, hostile, and deeply upsetting. My wife was left in such disbelief and humiliation that she abandoned a cart of groceries and left the store immediately. What is even more concerning is that my wife is a Muslim woman, and based on the interaction, I believe she was singled out and discriminated against because of her faith and appearance. My son, who was on the phone with her at the time, was traumatized by what he heard and is still shaken by the experience. No customer should ever be treated in this degrading and discriminatory manner. I request that this incident be taken seriously, fully investigated, and that appropriate action be taken against the employee involved. I also ask for a written response outlining the steps Aldi will take to ensure such behavior does not happen again to my family or any...
