My husband and my experience at Men's Wearhouse in Champaign was nothing less than phenomenal.
I am 24, and he is 28. We went on Monday 12/29/14 around 10am. We were mostly serviced by Doug (assistant manager) - an amazing person! He is a blend of casual, funny, charming, and experienced. Our primary reason for going was to have my husband measured for a tux for his brother’s wedding. The woman who helped us initially was new, but Doug helped her along the way checking to make sure everything was right without hovering or being condescending whatsoever. He double checked one measurement she took; just to be sure it was correct.
After this, we asked him about a $500 suit voucher that a salesperson at another Men’s Wearhouse in Arlington Heights, IL had told us about this past summer 2014. This was when we had gotten my husband’s tux for our wedding, but we just weren’t able to get into men’s warehouse in time to use the offer. Doug called corporate, and the voucher re-instated. He then flawlessly showed us a suit that matches my husband’s lifestyle perfectly (only uses a suit for formal events / interviews) with a charcoal color. He can wear it to formal events and to less formal events also. This suit was exactly at the $500 mark – meaning that Doug did not even attempt to try to sell us a suit that was over the mark to make the store some more money. He listened to both of our opinions solidly and gave us exactly what we were looking for. He shared his experience with arm length styles when we asked, and was knowledgeable with a chart in hand.
Because we were having such a positive experience, we decided to look at the ties. Doug chose 3 – 5 for us to look at that complemented the suit perfectly and that would enable my husband to wear them formally and more informally as well. We chose 2 and said we were good, and he did not push to show us any more he had selected
Doug was AMAZING, and at checkout, he applied another coupon for us. Doug was knowledgeable, friendly, and not condescending or snooty at all – which we were nervous about since we never are formal clothes shopping. He truly made the entire process seamless and we couldn't have been happier.
We would HIGHLY recommend working with Doug at this Men’s Wearhouse should you be in need of any formal ware! He not only knows what he is doing with the management end of things but also clearly is experienced with suit fashion /...
Read moreDon't waste your time. My fiancé and all the men in our bridal party drove over an hour to their appointment time for fittings and were turned away. Nothing online was working, the suits I'd spent quite awhile picking out were not attached to our wedding party on the website like I'd set up. They spent the entire time blaming it on a man named Perry who was nowhere to defend themselves. While trying to fix things, the person who was supposed to be measuring the guys said there was nothing for them to do, so they went and took their lunch break. After 3 times of back and forth calls to me from my fiancé, I reached out to the front desk and was told that I shouldn't have used their website because it was unreliable. That was no joke, now I'm even unable to log in to my account and it won't send me a password reset no matter how many times I try. The lady on the phone told me I had SOOO much time left (4 months) before our wedding and that they really shouldn't be coming in too soon because men fluctuate in weight. She pushed this MULTIPLE times, even after I called that out, as brides and their bridesmaids are recommended to get dresses 6-8 months prior. Women's weight typically fluctuates far more than men because of hormones, it's common biology. Funny enough, the website said we would need sizing done within the next 4 days if we wanted our suites in time for the wedding so I'm not sure where she got her information. On top of it all, they've now added some random person into our bridal party (I received an email about it but still couldn't log in to remove them). Don't go here, it's a headache, they don't actually want to help you, and you'll waste your time. I would give negative stars if I could. Thank god we found...
Read moreIf I could give a negative star I would! The problems we ran into were endless, this was by far the worst tuxedo rental I have ever been a part of. First, the customer service was horrible. From the fitting to the pickup, the communication and attention to detail was severely lacking. For myself, I told the individual what size I would need, as I wear a special size for shirts and jackets. He refused to listen and ended up having to order what size I told him. My jacket made me feel like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy, I couldn't move and if I did, I was surely going to split it in the back. My pants were another major issue, one pant leg was longer than the other, the pants were two sizes too big. I told the guy fitting me that I needed long pants as I'm 6'4" and wear 34" inseams, the pants I got, if I wore them where they are supposed to be worn were maybe a 29" inseam on the right leg and 28" at least on the left. When I sat down, you could almost see the tops of my socks. SO that was my issues, then my son who was the groom, his vest, jacket and shirt was no where near fitting him. They ordered the wrong size for him, the only saving grace was the person at the store brought it to the venue. Otherwise, we would have been really up a creek. Several groomsmen's were not fitted properly and the best mans shirt and jacket were originally ordered 4 inches too long. They had to fix it in the store but regardless they should have ordered it correctly in the first place. I would HIGHLY recommend finding somewhere else to order tuxes...
