We purchased a granite counter top for our kitchen and bath, sink, faucet and garbage disposal for a small kitchen and bath remodel. We contracted Home Depot and Crew 2 to do the work. The plumber came the morning of the install and was supposed to turn off the water and unhook the dishwasher to ensure it was ready to go for the counter top installers. They installed the counter top in the kitchen and bath without incident. Later that evening in the lower level of our home water starting coming through the ceiling until we figured out where it was coming from. We found that the water supply under our sink was not completely shut off and it was collecting for 12 hours on top of our downstairs ceiling. This caused major damage to our ceiling so we contacted Home Depot to file a claim. Three days later the claim adjustor representing Crew 2, Todd Handeland came to our home to look at the damage. He asked questions about what happened and asked if we had video of the water coming through the ceiling which we did not think of doing at the time due to wanting to find the water source so we could get it to stop! We dried the ceiling to ensure no mold would set in that evening. Two weeks later we received a letter stating our claim was denied and we felt they basically were calling us liars about what had happened. We contacted the District Service Manager Kevin Dorf to see what he would do for us since we now have to replace our ceiling. He said he would give us a $100 gift card!! What?? How is that going to help since it was their Plummer that caused the damage in the first place! After a lot of back and forth with Kevin he finally said they would give us $500 to go toward getting our ceiling fixed. We waited a month and still no check. We went into the Chaska store and spoke to the Store Manager who credited our Home Depot card for $500. This whole experience with the Home Depot has put a really bad taste in our mouth for using their contractors (Crew 2) and even shopping at any Home Depot store for future projects. I know they are a really large company and probably don't care about all their individual customers. We just wanted to share our horrible experience with Home Depot and Crew 2 to save anyone else from having the same thing...
Read moreAvoid using the Home Depot for window installation services at all costs. This has been the worst experience, and it is still not resolved. We were sold Anderson windows through the HD by Stewart - he went on and on about how it’s a big company we can trust, will always be there, stands by their work and service. The cost was half what it cost to actually go through Anderson or Renewal by Anderson, and it has 100% NOT been worth it. Where do I start? Our windows were apparently backordered, so after WE reached out the week of installation, we found out we needed to wait another month. No one contacted us, I had to reach out. One month goes by, and they show up to do the install. The two-man team that actually installed the windows were so friendly. Efficient. Unfortunately there were so many problems - two of our windows won’t open (haven’t since install). The caulk job around the windows makes the windows immediately look cheap, we didn’t pass city inspection because the HD didn’t use egress hardware on the bedrooms (they claim there is no such thing on this Series which we found to be untrue. It was even on the initial order form). We’ve reached out countless times for updates - when can our two windows be fixed, the hardware be updated, the finish caulk work be fixed…time and time again we get the run around. No one has ever proactively contacted us. Our “PM”, Braeden, who is by far the worst PM I’ve ever worked with, never updates us. Continues to ignore our emails, calls and questions. Then turns us over to a regional PM - Todd. Same story. Turns us to an inspector, Javier. Still no answers, no support. And surprise surprise - I’ve even tried to loop our sales guy, Stewart, back in, since he sold us on this bullshit, and he’s completely MIA. All we want is our windows to be fixed to actually open, look like the $30k we spent, and pass city inspection/be safe. Like 60 days ago. I should have listened to the reviews I read (unfortunately after the fact). Do. Not. Go with Home Depot for installation services. Run the other direction, even if it cost more in the end. Not worth...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with this stores customer service. I returned an online order that had a malfunction and I was given credit for the purchase so I could reorder the item since it wasn’t carried in store (Dewalt Heated Jacket). I was not made aware at the time that the credit I was given was only valid for an INSTORE purchase. I had made it clear my intent to reorder the item and “Bob” the customer service rep gave no indication of the credit not being valid for an online purchase….even though I was returning an online purchase and we had a discussion about how the jacket is not carried in store and that I was intending to replace it. Apparently Home Depot does not allow store credit to be transferred to online credit…kinda crazy in my opinion as it should just be a credit valid for purchasing anything from Home Depot. After two separate phone calls, one with a Home Depot customer service rep followed by one with Bob at the Chaska store I was informed that I could come BACK to the store to order the jacket from a cashier there and then return AGAIN to pick it up when it’s shipped in. I live about 45 minutes from this location so it’s a major inconvenience for me to perform this transaction. I felt that Bob performed poorly as a customer service rep from the very beginning when he answered a phone call as we were approaching his station with clear intent, then he attempted to multitask with another transaction during my own transaction in process and I had to repeat information to him about the return, and then for me to leave and drive all the way home only to find out the whole fiasco with store credit not being valid as online credit. This interaction has left me with a sour taste in my mouth, about 3 hours of future driving to accomplish the actual replacement of the jacket, not including the hour and a half round trip I spent driving there to return the jacket in the first place. 0/10 I will not return to this Home Depot nor will I make another online purchase after I get this sorted out. If you value your time & money, I recommend going to your nearest...
