My family’s experience at Willy McCoy’s was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority. Tables and chairs were visibly unclean, setting the tone for a disappointing meal. While it’s expected that a bar will have a drinking crowd, we were there for the food, which turned out to be an outright disaster.
The walleye fingers arrived limp and soggy with an off-putting taste that made us question their freshness. The salad was gross. Stale lettuce and dressing that tasted past its prime. Up to this point, we chose to grin and bear it, hoping to at least enjoy each other’s company. Then the unthinkable happened.
My pregnant wife’s pork dish was served completely raw—cold to the touch, having never even seen a grill. This wasn’t just unacceptable; it was dangerous. While the manager was friendly and quick to rectify the mistake, the damage was done. After putting raw pork in her mouth, she had no interest in eating anything else.
My son’s pizza was a joke. Hardly any cheese, looking worse than the cheap frozen kind. Service was slow and disorganized, with staff seemingly lost and inattentive. Getting refills, extra plates, or even the check was a challenge.
If you’re looking to down beers and watch a game, maybe this place has some appeal. But for dinner? Avoid at all costs. You can do better...
Read moreWent here Sunday with my family and we were very unimpressed. We have to been to many Willy Mcoy locations including this one many times and I have never had such a bad experience. The service was bad and borderline non-existent. We saw our waitress 5 times and that includes taking our order, grabbing the check and returning our card…. The two other times was when she brought our drinks and when my sisters food had peppers on it which doesn’t even come with the meal….. I would usually completely understand as Willy’s is usually packed to the brim, except it wasn’t even busy and there were over 5 waitresses serving tables near us… As I stated previously my sisters food had peppers in it and when she brought that to the waitresses attention she said “I don’t see it” and walked away. We pulled out all the peppers ourself as we didn’t see her again until she brought the bill. The place was also very cold, which would be fine except it was cold outside. Why was the AC going ?? The experience was bad and we left within 40 minutes of arrival due to the bad service, food and how cold it was. I had the soup which was great hence the extra star and my husband had a burger that was good as well. The last picture was my sisters food and you can see the peppers clear as day as well as the avocado (the only green thing that is supposed to...
Read moreIt's been a long work-week (include the weekend) and I hadn't seen my wife much in the past six days - so being "1/2 price burger night", and Willy McCoy's in Chaska being halfway between home and work - I texted my better half and asked her if she wanted to meet. She did.
It was already pretty late, and the restaurant was not terribly busy. I had my wife place our order ahead of time (she got there about 10 minutes before I did). We simply made a choice off the "Burger" area of the menu. No upgrades, no appetizers, no drinks. I had the Irish Whisky Burger, and she had the Bacon BBQ Deluxe.
Overall, I was pretty pleased! The food arrived in a timely fashion, the waitress was attentive without being overbearing or intrusive, and the bill (being 1/2 price burger night) was completely affordable! We both commented how the two of us stopping for McFastFood somewhere would have cost us the same (minus the soda's that we didn't order) - but how much better the burger / fries were than they would have been for the same price as the aforementioned McFastFood.
We'll be keeping this in mind as a possibility again some time in the future - and that should give you some hint if it's worth...
