The Famous & Original King of Pizza — Restaurant in Cherry Hill Township

Who knew a Pizza King also served hoagies, gyros, salads and perfectly cooked fries! Being from out of town, hungry and in a hurry to go sightseeing, we wandered into the first place we saw online that was walking distance from our hotel. I was taken off guard by the "cash only" so wasn't thrilled about the $3 charge to use the atm ($1 from the atm a'd $2 from my bank) to get the cash but definitely glad I did. I had a veggie slice. It came with brocoli and tomato w/white cheese. I was glad I asked before ordering it, because this Cali girl was not expecting that! It was delicious. I also tried the gyro and fries. Could have used more sauce and onion on the gyro but otherwise it was good and the fries were cooked nice and crisp. My friend had a steak slice and a cheese steak hoagie. Both were also good (had to try a bite of course ). But the best part of the experience was the service. The woman behind the counter was patient, helpful, kind and seeing we weren't from around there, made sure we felt welcomed. And so did the other employees I interacted with. Could find better pizza? As a local in Cherry Hill for almost 35 years, one thing has not changed...where I get my favorite pizzas! Yes I change pizzerias sometimes and yes everyone has their subjective view on how they like their pizza to taste. That said, King of Pizza for all those years has stayed true to their brand, even after the original restaranrt burnt to the ground in a fire, and was then rebuilt! The crust, sauce, cheeses and toppings have not wavered a bit! I frankly can't believe it, but glad their pizzas haven't changed.

My pizzas are usually traditional pepperoni, sausage, and/or meatball. Sometimes Neapolitan, sometimes Sicilian. Regardless, amble toppings, tasty sauce, nicely browned crust, and always great! Typically pizzas are ready within 10 minutes, a maximum of 20, so it is easy to call in, drive over and pick it up. They are always cash only, but they have an ATM if needed. Cheestakes, wings, garlic knots, and other sandwiches also available, but hey, it's called King of PIZZA...

I have been going to this King of Pizza about four to five times a week for months. Today, my order was messed up with my fries and wings and the manager said he would take care of it. He gave me the exact same wings back and gave me his word they were new wings and well done. I got home about to eat my wings like I always do, and I have never bitten into a wing so soggy and stretchy from sitting out I was so disgusted and upset that the manager would even give me these wings with his words that they were well done. I am so disappointed with how the manager treated me. I went back to then return my wings after driving home, to which the manager tried telling me that wings will always be soggy when you get home, and I replied “ I get wings 4-5 times a week from you guys and they have never ever been like this” and he said “whatever I’m not gonna fight you on this” He then gave me a refund and cursed at me as I turned around.
