It has been 4 amazing years since I graduated nursing school and 3 years since I sat down to take the most challenging exam in my life. An examination that knocked me down once and I was so completely discouraged about it. Let me tell you, please...let me tell you who gave me the determination and support I needed to pick myself right back up again, Alonda Tate. I owe Ms. Tate everything! She never gave up on me, even when I was depressed. She pushed me (really pushed me), and believed in me, at times more than I believed in myself. Again, she not once, gave up on me! She believed in the dream I had. She aided me in overcoming my extreme test anxiety. It was Ms. Tate who supported me with passing my class exams and the most important exam of them all, NCLEX-PN. She truly has a passion for what she does and because of it she wants the absolute best for all her nurses (students, graduates and licensed nurses too). She has even encouraged me to become a homeowner since I became a nurse. My credit has improved a lot and I’ve benefitted so much from listening to her. When I say, if you want the best? She is the BEST TO ACCOMPLISH THE GOAL OF SUCCESSFULLY ADVANCING THRU NURSING SCHOOL AND PASSING THE BEAST...NCLEX! Be well aware though, to achieve your goal of becoming a nurse under her guidance, some great advice I will leave for whoever is considering enrolling here...just please LISTEN to whatever she expresses for you to do (she will not steer you wrong). You WILL SUCCEED just...
Read moreI’m currently attending prism, and I wish I would’ve taken the bad reviews into consideration. 1st of all the way their grading system is set up is definitely designed for student failure, for example: (Exams weighs more than quizzes, Mid- Terms and Finals weighs the most). So, one day the teacher starts a lesson sends the class on break and decide to give a 10question pop quiz right afterwards. Majority of the class failed. I went from my grade being an 80% to a 76% overall (dropping 4pts) A week later I took a 100 question midterm and passed. My grade went from a 76% to a 78% overall. How does this make sense? How does failing a quiz drop you down 4 pts but passing a midterm only bring you up 2pts? Keep in mind you need a 75% or above to pass. This grading method keeps everyone treading on thin ice.
2nd there’s a class that no other school has called Test Taking Strategies. It doesn’t have anything to do with nursing and it’s nothing but stress and a waste of time, literally. There is no way you should have to repeat this class for failing, like how are you failing me for a class that’s teaching me test taking strategies. I don’t get it! Why is it really in place at this school, why do I have to focus on studying for test and homework for a non medical class when I have so many other nursing classes to study for at the same time. This school is All...
Read moreI really hate the fact that I did not look at the reviews before applying to this school! The worst mistake I could have ever made. Your education is not important at this facility. The only thing they care about is the money you provide to keep the doors open! They need to be seriously investigated! I am now in my 4th term and things just seem to be getting worse the closer I get to the end. Each term we have had new teachers who know nothing about the material they are teaching! And as of recently I’ve had two teachers quit within the first few weeks of this term! It’s like they hire ppl just to say they have staff. These ppl are not qualified to teach and they are very unprofessional. They don’t respond to emails or concerns and that goes for everyone on staff. But when they wanted to enroll me I had no problems until that check cleared! I have no choice but to stick it out because now I owe loans to this bottom of the barrel school! Don’t get me started on the broken equipment they provide to demonstrate on. The mannequins are all broken and falling apart! They are more worried about students eating in the classroom then they are about students actually passing and achieving greatness. I attend at night and let’s just say we aren’t as appreciated as day class. They have a 2.2 star rate it should really be...
