A gem of a find in Chicago's downtown - the South loop!
I stumbled upon L'afrique last week in South Loop - an International specialist grocery story and what a treat!!! Not only was it an incredibly nostalgic experience seeing items and old familiar brands you don't typically find your local Mariano's, Jewel or Whole Foods but the staff and service was next to none. The owner IB/Brian made it a point to personally greet every patron and make them feel right at home and he was only too eager to hear about new products you'd like to see In store. I walked out with these "Jamaican Curry Style Patties" (they were a 10/10!) and Milo - which I haven't been able to find in my last fews in the states! They always have the African produce and items I need and it’s so nice not having to go all the way up north or down south since I live in the South Loop area.
