I really wanted to like this place, but I was just not a fan. I was just looking for a place to get some work done and a good cup of coffee in the area and hoped that I had found it. However, I ordered an Americano which tasted almost identical to a cup of Folgers. I use Dark Matter coffee for my at-home espresso and know it's not a result of the beans unless they were old. They seem to have a decent setup with a Rocket espresso machine and a decent grinder, so I'm assuming it was maybe user error. Second, the Wifi was SO SLOW. Just loading a simple website took 2-3 minutes. I'm guessing they prioritize wifi for members, but the free option was borderline unusable which is disappointing. Third, for the purposes of a co-working space, the music was a bit too loud and just not a great choice for getting work done. The shop itself was cute with plenty of seating, but I would probably not...

**Update 7/27/21: They've since refunded my coffee and were actually quite prompt. They are really a great coffee shop, highly recommend!

I purchased a 16 ounce cold brew from the state Street location on July 22. As I drank the coffee, I heard a rattling at the bottom of my cup. I looked underneath and saw that there was a small piece of metal in the coffee, as can be seen in the picture. I called today to speak with a manager, and the barista who answered the phone hurriedly let me know that the manager wasn’t present at the moment and actually would NOT be for the whole day. I am disappointed that this happened especially because I purchase coffee here a lot and actually enjoy their shop. I hope management sees this and responds accordingly because it really is unacceptable, not to mention a huge...

I just left out of there and it was super awkward there was one lady in particular who made it seem super intense. Ordering cofeee should never be this intense she was micro managing the entire staff I mean relax lady it’s just coffee this isn’t Starbucks nor will it ever be like relax!!! She was literally standing in the corner correcting everything everyone did made the entire experience awkward for the customers and staff if you want to correct your staff wait until the customer is out of the store it’s super awkward and weird relax it’s usually super fun and the staff are really nice but today I felt awkward and and intense the second I walked in the door please learn how to micromanage and be nice to your staff you can tell they don’t need someone in they’re back about coffee she made the entire...

Food was kinda expensive ($41 for 3 coffees & 2 sandwiches) and the self-checkout kiosk was confusing. It didn't seem too busy but the staff seem to struggle. I waited over 20 minutes for my order to be finished. Staff was kind, just disorganized. The iPad area near the toasters looks crazy and a potential fire hazard with the electrical cords, toaster, and panini press. The thermostat food probe should be ALWAYS sanitized before and after use. The staff took it out of the mug that had miscellaneous items, used it, and placed it back in the mug. PLEASE SANITIZED BEFORE/AFTER USE. My only suggestions would be to focus on only coffee. The breakfast foods are rip-off for they are cheaply made and don't taste good. The coffee was delicious, though.

This is my first visit to Chicago and of course I want to check out local coffee spots. Momentum Coffee was my first spot I visited and it was solid. First of all the location is great but upon entering the coffee shop I did not feel this would be a great place to do work. I think music would be a nice touch to make it feel more upbeat and welcoming. The baristas were good, they seem very occupied and I wasn’t going to strike a conversation which I usually do. I ordered cappuccino and a croissant. Coffee was pretty good and so was croissant. I love the logo but I wish they had ceramic dine in cup. Would I come back for a cup of joe again? Absolutely! But I would most take it to go and would not necessarily make it my creative work coffee spot.

I was looking forward to trying Momentum Coffee, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. The Peach Cold Brew was not enjoyable, and when I shared my concerns, the staff did not offer a replacement or even a partial discount. I was told that no manager was available, which felt like an inadequate resolution. In situations like this, it would be helpful if team members were better trained or empowered to address customer issues. Additionally, I noticed pitchers of cold brew sitting out on the counter, which raised concerns about freshness and quality. I hope this feedback is received constructively, as there is potential for improvement.
