Arrived an hour before closing on a Sunday - with a list (8 items) & coupons on My List in the HF app. The app is closely related to the shopping experience. Staff was helpful in locating what I came for. I was in the line (1 cashier)quickly. I was confused about the 2 types of coupons, but I didn't know that until checkout. There are coupons for the general public (me)and a different set (more) for those who are paid members in the Harbor Freight Club. Didn't see the difference in the app. I used the public (or red) coupons for items correctly but was not eligible to use the (blue) coupons for paid Club Membership items. I didn't open each coupon when I clicked it to My List.I already could see price and savings. Clicking 'open' the individual coupon is how to locate barcode for checkout and the fact of who can use the coupon. I didn't know if I could use a coupon until I opened the individual coupon in My List. Since the Club items weren't the reason I was there, I chose not to pay full price for them. 5 items had to be deducted from my purchase, but I hadn't totaled out yet or paid. Therefore, there wasn't a restocking fee (I saw some of the items had a restocking fee if returned) flash on the cash register screen. I was not purchasing anything over $11.99. Seeing a restocking fee was interesting since it wasn't written anywhere I read - missed more fine print. Total purchase was $5 short of the $29.99 required to get the 'free' 5 gal Harbor Freight bucket. No matter if Club Member, the lid was additional $2. I am saying all of this in the review so it will be transparent and to tell you to read the fine print....all of it - in the app, sale items, coupons (click on each one to read fine print), Club Membership, etc. Make no assumptions. I clearly missed a lot of fine print. The shopping trip for a manual transfer pump turned out to be more complicated than I expected. I didn't purchase any extra items on My List due to my 'couponing' errors. The HF app is time-consuming, especially needing to open the coupon to its last level in order to read all of the fine print. Every time a coupon was opened, it asked about sending me notifications, and I said 'not allowed' each time. It asked EVERY time a coupon was fully opened. I am sorry, but this is why HF...
Read moreNo customer service. There is no one in the floor to help answer questions. I waited in line with three others while cashier was on phone with a customer giving direction for which felt like ten minutes. He was unable multitask and ring customers and give directions at the same time. He was the only cashier open. Once he was off the phone, he needed a managers code, so we waited again for another five minutes or so for the manager on duty. Finally she comes out of the office talking on her cell phone. she walked over put in her code never got off the cell phone and went back into her office and shut the door with all of us standing there. if I didn't need desperately the item I was buying I would have walked out and left it right there...
Read moreOh my God what could I say about this store? What couldn't I say! The staff is super helpful with a contagiously happy atmosphere about them. The tools are awesome! Did you know all hand tools have a lifetime warranty? Wow! I know Sears use to have that with the Craftsman brand but now that Lowe's bought them out I haven't looked into it to see if it's still the same. If you sign up for their email alerts you get even more deals and free items. I love harbor freight for that. They make sure their customers come in happy. They make sure your experience is happy. They make sure you stay happy. They do all they can to make sure you remember them and are excited to come back. I...
