I love Oktoberfest for the music and beer! Sorgenbrecher is our favorite of the Oktoberfest performers. The food really gets worse every year though....definitely recommend eating a big meal BEFOREHAND and getting a pretzel or kettle corn to snack on because that's the only good options. I wish they would bring back the no beer on the dance floor rule because beer getting spilled everywhere is a recipe for disaster. Also don't recommend going on a Saturday night unless you are okay being around a lot and I mean A LOT of drunks and it's sooooo crowded then to. Loved that the event was at Heritage park. Such a better venue than downtown. Major complaint was that food options were horrible. They had one caterer running the only three stations. They ran out of over half of their menu items, shut down the buffet early for running out of food, had huge lines and horrible customer service, and poor food handling hygiene. Thank goodness it was only $10. Arrived almost 2 hrs before they opened the gate for the wiener dog races and still couldn’t find a good location to sit. Food selection was limited and overpriced. No baked goods. Vendor offering very limited German wares. The village of Fankenmuth was a 5 star location and worth a visit.
