Terrible experience twice! I went shopping for a dress for a special occasion. I was on my lunch hour and in a bit of a hurry. I chose several items, tried on a few of them but ran out of time. I decided to purchase three items and return them later if they did not fit. The next day I went out of town and unfortunately none of the items fit appropriately. When I went back four days later I was told I could not return any of the items! Sales clerk immediately dismissed me. She went on to say that sale items must be returned within three days. I pointed out that I was there only a couple hours after my third day, but my return was again refused. I asked why I was not told about the limited return policy and she pointed to a sign and said it was posted everywhere. The print was fairly small and I didn’t see it. Then I was told it was on my receipt. Yes, I should have looked, but like I said I was on my lunch hour and then went out of town. I asked to speak with the manager. The sales clerk paged the manager who called her back. Manager approved the return. However, sales clerk could not get the transaction to process after about 20 minutes with a line building behind me, she told me that I would need to accept a gift card. I did not want a gift card, I wanted a credit for my credit card. She then told me to go to the gift wrap area and I could exchange my gift card for a credit on my credit card or cash. Of course this was not the case when I went there. Clerk acted like I was making this stuff up. I had a feeling I was going to have an issue so before I left the ladies department I asked the clerk to write down the manager’s name. When the girl in the gift wrap area refused to help I again asked for the manager. Manager called and told girl no. I again said I was told yes. Manager finally came to speak with me after about 15 minutes. She then proceeded to tell me that she never said that I could have a refund?!?! Crazy, right? My friend was with me and observed both interactions. She confirmed what I was told. Manager acted like I was lying. My only option was a gift card, even though I had my receipt. Manager was very rude, had an attitude and treated me like she was superior and I was a liar. I will never shop at Dillard’s again. What happened to customer service? If the manager approved the refund why would she not honor her original approval? Very Disappointed with...
Read moreI am usually not one to complain but with regards to the incident that happened to my wife yesterday I have to. My wife had purchased some shoes 2 days ago at regular price. As usual she returned to the mall to do more shopping, when she noted the same shoes she had purchased were now 40% off. First of all my wife noted all the shoe sales personell were all huddled together socializing and not attending to the customers already in the shoestore. She was finally able to speak to a shoe salesman and aked if she could return the shoes and repurchase them at the lower price, which I felt was fair as long as it was within the stores return policy limtations. Unfortunately the salesman was extremely rude to her and was refusing to honor the return. My wife then requested to speak with the female Dillards shoe store manager. The manager came out with a very grumpy and angry look on her face and in a very derogatory and intimidating tone asked "What do you want?" She spoke to my wife in a very insulting and condescending manner, that my wife was almost in tears. Afterwards she took the shoes from my wife and threw them aside like it was garbage and then hurriedly went away. My wife then pleaded multiple times "What about my money, where is my money?" Another salesman finally stated it would be credited back to her card. I cannot understand how an upscale store like Dillards can allow this to happen in their store. We have been coming to this Dillard store at Countryside for many years and have met many friendly and wonderful salesmen and women who loved their jobs and liked to serve their customers, Unfortunately the culture and quality of the sales people and manager in the shoe department has degenerated to laziness, poor attitudes and poor customer service. It was bad enough the manager was very rude and condescending to her customers but to treat the store merchandise as if it was garbage is disturbing. It places a big question mark on the customer "Is the merchandise really worth buying?" My wife who likes shopping at Dillards says she will be avoiding the shoe department and will no longer be referring anyone there like she has...
Read moreI was notified of a Card member sale about an hour before they opened. I was out and about and hadn't showered yet but I had an interview later and needed a new suit. I went in and purchased over $300 worth of merchandise. I was not able to try on the suits due to the fact that I was under a time crunch and I was smelly. I went home, took a shower, tried on the dresses and suits and was able to be satisfied with 2 out of 5 suits I picked. Mind you, when you are looking for something, everyone is very helpful. "Sure, you can find that over there...but come here to check out!". Well, I came back the very next day to return a few of my items and wow, you are considered the plague. I asked if I could return at the register by the door, no you have to go to that department. OK, well, I am in the women's department? So she pawned me off on someone else who then walked me a long way to another lady who was extremely busy. (Mind you, the first register I went to the girl was playing with stickers). And, of course, the woman was pissed! I don't mean mad...I mean pissed! Wouldn't look at me, nasty to the core. First thing she said was, "none of these worked for you"? I said, "I had two bags worth of items and these 5 did not work". She was pushing the hangers on the metal hook like she was bashing in my head in her mind. I would say, "that looks really cute on the hanger but just not flattering on". She just glared at me. The whole transaction took about 2 minutes seeing I get my receipts emailed. I am going to pay off the credit card and cancel it. I don't need to be treated like that when I spend money in their store. I will...
