I booked a tour of West Yellowstone with Cody Wyoming Adventures on viator. Normally I buy directly from the owners but I was having trouble with doing that. Viator found them. Apparently they had reached out to me via Viator although I asked them specifically to give my information to them so I could get more information. Instead of Cody Adventures doing that they continued to send texts via Viator. There was a problem with the booked tour but after a few messages they agreed to give me the tour on Monday the 23rd of September. From what I could read from the conversation they were not happy about it. I asked them immediately if they would pull the cancellation on me. I was assured they wouldn’t. So I drive 8 hours to West Yellowstone where I would be picked up. Crappy $250 motel. I am checking any messages from them. I specifically told them to call me if things change. I am supposed to meet up at 7am. Okay no calls At 5:30am I got the expected text. Through Viator first. Now I had already told them I don’t go Viator. I then get a text from them saying that “ I am so sorry but I have to cancel. I am NOT in West Yellowstone. I am so mad that now after all this I got sick. I don’t think I can get away from the bathroom. I thought I might feel better this morning but it’s not. I feel terrible. I can’t believe this.
Now of course it didn’t surprise me at all I did call them out stating that I didn’t believe the “sick” card. Even if she/he was sick they should have found someone else. Mind you I have been told they are nit in West Yellowstone. After letting them know I didn’t believe the excuse. “ do you think I would drive all the way and rent another hotel room and you say you pulled the “sick” card? Are you seriously that cruel?” They go on to tell me I am a selfish person. Adding that they would only be getting paid $175. Ah one of the main reasons to cancel ? You are selfish and unkind. I was then treated to information about diarrhea. Oh and then claimed they had been contacting me all week long. Again Viator promised they would give them my phone number. “ all I can say is karma will come back at you. I’m contacting the police and my lawyer about your harassment. Do not message me again you crazy person. Now seriously Cody Wyoming Adventures are not a reliable company. No they are not. Did they cancel under the excuse of illness? Or was it all about the money? I really think so and can’t prove it. I can however express that they were not thrilled with the tour in the first place. As I said to them, if they had canceled when we were messaging it would have been a lot easier and less costly for me. 8 hour drive and a crappy motel. I say try someone else before Cody...
Read moreDid not deliver a refund as promised. In July 2021, I was on a family trip with my husband, sister, bother-in-law, and both of my husband’s parents. We purchased 6 tickets a day and half before the Yellowstone tour. Called and spoke to owner and she told me to call the next morning and the invoice would be online and we could pay for tickets and since we were within 48 hours from the tour the cancellation policy would be “no problem”. We were so excited for this 12 hour tour but the afternoon before the tour I got very sick and couldn’t leave the hotel bathroom and became dehydrated within 12 hours. Unfortunately, I was unable to leave the hotel bathroom and could not go with my family on the van which left a 7am. My husband stayed behind with me because I was so sick but finally at 11am I visited the Billings urgent care (highly recommended) and was diagnosed with food poisoning. The physician told me I would feel better in a couple of days. My husband called and visited the company to ask for a credit or refund and the associate on duty said the owner would have to make that decision but we never received a return call. I emailed the owner several times and finally got a response (attached) and was told to call the office for a refund because they don’t keep credit card numbers on file. I’ve tried calling for 2 weeks and left several messages. Today, I called again and finally got a answer and it was the owner. She told me that she never emailed me nor does she give refund without 48 hours notice. I explained to her I had the email and she told me she didn’t email me. She was so rude and told me she had enough business and she didn’t care if I wanted to leave a bad review or file a complaint. This is so disappointing because my relatives live in Wyoming and I have been traveling there for 22 years and have never been treated so badly. I just don’t understand because everyone has always been so nice in Wyoming but I guess when you have money and so many customers that you don’t care that you promised a refund of $447.00 or that 1 person is upset. I’ve never wrote a bad review before this one but feel my hard earned money was waisted without my control. Thank you for reading and hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else....

If Yellowstone is on your bucket list… Steer Clear of Cody Wyoming Adventures.
Drove 90 minutes to take Yellowstone tour with Cody Adventures.. Total prepaid cost $458.
Waited 1 hour, in the rain on a street corner. With my wife and another person Sam who was not related to us.
Nothing was open to get out of the cold or rain. But we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss the tour.
The pickup was supposed to be “before 7:00 am. “
starting at 7:02 called the tour company. “Michael” laughed and said it’s only 2 minutes late… she (the tour guide) has other stops.
Called every 15 minutes after but Michael could not contact the tour guide. we were told to continue to wait.
After 1 hour standing on a corner in the rain. We called for a refund. Michael said we could come back tomorrow.
We told him then that we weren’t going to do this again and wanted a refund.
The next day they called to confirm our tour and denied a refund.
The guide “Sunny” claimed she had affidavits from 7 people that she drove past the pickup point 3 times.
(we never saw her, she had our phone numbers and she never tried to call)
Sunny wasn’t giving us a refund… and hung up.
I understand that miscommunication can happen.
But for a tourist service,
1 this company could not contact the driver to coordinate a pickup
2 the guide’s phone goes straight to voicemail.
3 the only compensation they offered was try again tomorrow
4 their idea of customer support Is “I have an affidavit, you’re not getting anything”
If I could give less than 1...
