We went to a birthday party today at Millstone.everything was a JOKE!!!!! Downstairs the water was leaking from the foundation on the floor where the tables were. My daughter-in-law slipped in the water and started falling. We got staff and they just put out a wet sign and said that they couldn’t do anything. We switched eating places. Then the token machine was out and they couldn't even get coins to play the machines. We went up stairs and they said only the owner had keys. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes for the owner to come and they had to take tokens out of each machine to put in the token machine. We never had to wait for an owner to come and do that with the old owner. There was 13 machines or more that were out of order. Two machines that the kids were playing were out of tickets we went upstairs 3 times and asked for someone to come down and put tickets I. The machines. No one came down. When I went upstairs again and asked at the front desk on the way down I fell on the last stair and hit the concrete. Everyone had so many tickets and coins left since there was not enough machines to play. After we had cake and presents we asked several times for someone to come down and count out tickets since the ticket counter was out of order also. No one came. We waited for more than one hour to try to cash our tickets in. Then two women walked down the stairs I said “ma’am we need help with tickets and she shut the door she was going into on me. Never said wait a minute. When had also pushed the help button at least ten times. We had small children that wanted to turn on their tickets and were frustrated wanting a toy. So I put the tickets on the counter and decided we would get a couple of small things that they had way more tickets than what they wanted. The general manager came down and started screaming at us saying she was going to call the cops on me saying I was stealing. No one was stealing they had plenty of tickets and we spent over 100.00 on their machines. She said if I didn’t leave she would call the cops and she would not count their tickets or let us get anything. We have always supported Millstone in the past and we got along with the owner and the general manager. This general manager lady was so rude and the service we got was pathetic. It has gone downhill since the new owner took over. We were told that we should have had patience. We were there for 3 hours and waited the last hour for them to come finally downstairs to help us. How do I get ahold of the owner. He should know how bad the basement is being run. Then don’t have birthday parties or an arcade area that is in that bad of shape. No one ever apologized for not coming down to help us for the many, many, many times we asked for help. We got told to have Patience!!! Really we all had patience for 3...
Read moreThought we would give this place another chance. We were last here in February for a salad that we waited for close to an hour and finally had to leave. I believe all young people need jobs but I’m not sure I saw one adult working there. Clearly mismanaged.
Anyway, as stated previously, we thought we would give it another chance. Nothing has changed. It appeared to be only kids working there. We waited approximately 15 minutes before the young person came to take our order. Another 10 minutes passed before we got our waters. We then asked if it was possible to have the TV in front of us changed to a baseball game. He didn’t know how to work the TV. Finally when our pizza arrived we were not brought plates. I asked for plates and he said it was no problem but never came back. When we were almost done with our pizza he came to our table and asked how everything was. I tried to be polite and told him it would’ve been nice for us to have the plates that we had asked for and his response was, “oh sorry”. Not a response that I was expecting. I would think he would apologize and then ask if I would still like plates but there was none of that. I finally had to just speak up and ask for the check when he was coming by. Pizza was so-so. Not bad but not great either. I’m sorry but we will not be coming back. It just appears that the establishment as a whole is mismanaged. Lots of kids working there. Again, I understand all kids need jobs but a little schooling and work ethics...
Read moreDined there a couple times. Once for drinks only and a second day for dinner. Both times we paid with cash. Unfortunately they added a 2.5% cc'd fee to the bill. According to a manager, they're supposed to take it off if paying cash. This is not very trustworthy! Our first visit, the waitress didn't know exactly what it was for, but agreed to taking it off. Beware!
They were fairly busy. Our last visit, the manager sat us. After running around confused as to where to seat us, first attempt, she suggested we go back to wait. Once seated, I ended up going back to the door and grabbed us menus. Almost good at hosting!
Our waiter was a very nice young man from Romania. He appeared to be over tasked by this manager. She had him waiting tables upstairs and downstairs! Anytime we asked for anything, she yelled at him in front of everyone rather than getting it for us!
My recommendation is to assign a wait staff for the various areas. I'd have my staff trained to be proactive and asked how the customer wishes to pay before putting the onus on the customer to discover the additional charges and either request it be removed, costing the wait staff wasted time going back to reprint. According to most other complaints, slow service is a major issue here.
Perhaps a better idea would be to build your credit card fees into your menu rather than looking like you're gauging. It's highly doubtful that every charge was removed for cash payments.
BTW, the beer is...
