This review is NOT about just the food, because then it should be a 5-star review. The boiled seafood is really really good (comparable to what I had in Louisiana). The quality of the seafood was fresh and the crabs especially were really good. However, the service in this place really left a bitter aftertaste. I will explain in a few points.
On Google, Yelp, and on a chalkboard in the restaurant itself, it is written that the restaurant closes at 10 PM. However, they started wrapping things up by 9:30 PM and started rushing us. When we enquired, they said they had already closed at 9:30 PM. My fried was using a crab cracker for his crab claws, but the waiter just took it from him because they had âclosed downâ. The same waiter threw away my friendâs leftovers when he had gone to the restroom to wash his hands. When I pointed out to them that Google, Yelp, and their storefront states the closing time as 10 PM, they just excused themselves stating that those times hadnât been updated. So, because of the incompetence and stupidity of the workers, the customers had to suffer. The server himself seemed a bit confused from the beginning and kept messing up from time to time (filling up a drink cup with ice when specifically instructed to do the opposite, forgetting what condiments we had asked for, etc.) and took over 30 mins to get our order to us (another reason why we were there for so long. We had reached the restaurant at 8:15 PM.
Overall, really pleased by the food and disappointed by the service. I would return again, but just do to-go orders...
Read moreAllow me to explain the one star. If you donât mind the things that bother me, go for it.
So, I went to school in Louisiana and live in Houston (capital of Vietnamese style crawfish) and during crawfish season, I eat bugs three or more times a week for dinner. Usually putting back 8-10 lbs at a time. We also have a crawfish boil every year, and Iâve been eating these creatures for over two decades. Trust me when I say: I know what I am talking about.
These are atrocious. Their sauce is great, the Juicy special is really flavorful and itâs a shame their crawfish are cooked so poorly. When I asked if the crawfish were frozen (still not convinced they werenât, even though they brought me a live one when I asked. They must keep some lives one to âproveâ they are âfreshâ), they offered to cook me a âfresh batch.â It came out in 4 minutes flat. . . Crawfish donât take 4 minutes to cook. They take much, much longer. Then, they put crawfish in the microwave and tried to tell me they were freshly cooked. Insulting. These were even worse than the first batch.
The manager explained to me they have to boil the crawfish twice, but the ones I got first were from this morning. Hence the mushy meat, disentigraging shells, and grey colored flesh. This is where she put her foot in her mouth, because I asked if they cooked my crawfish fresh, twice, in 4 minutes. . . All of a sudden she doesnât know what the chef does. I asked for my check and left.
Just hope I donât...
Read moreI'm not sure when crawfish became so dang expensive. This place has definitely got the most expensive price ($9.99 per pound) I have EVER paid for crawfish. Not only is the crawfish super expensive but the potatoes, corn, and sausage are all extra for a small fee. I ordered the combo of crawfish and shrimp and my wife ordered a couple pounds of crawfish. The food comes out in plastic bags which I find very awkward. The wife wanted a mild spice and I like my mouth to be on fire. We both ordered accordingly but my food had barely any spice and was definitely not hot or spicy. Overall the crawfish is still good but I have had way better crawfish for better price. They do have separate sinks from the restrooms for washing your hands once your done with the crawfish, which is awesome. I will be back to try the crab legs but not...
