10/5 Erick Cane was my barber. I requested him due to the uncertainty time frame of Martin’s. I told him & requested to him twice on 2 different platforms I wanted my shear & scissor trim a .25 inch all over & comeback with a razor to line me up all over. The cut I got is more than terrible & unacceptable. The least he could’ve done is have my head/hair match, I would’ve respected it & or given me the respect to stop & allow me to see if it was to my preference. I told him a.25 inch & he still chose to keep cutting. & he still used the clippers & I told him & paid him for a shear & scissor trim & razor line upA damn shame a barber doesn’t know nor wants to know what a .25 inch is. Did he get a pass or something inorder to pass & get licensed? He has my Afro looking like Gumby. I don’t recommend anyone else that has growing hair of all types to get serviced by him. Worst part about was I had to pay him & if I didn’t I’d get arrested & gotten a ticket.
Months, close to a yr ago I requested & saw Cedric & want Ed the exact services from him. He still used the clippers after I told him shear & scissor trim a .25 inch all over & still doin what he wanted with the clippers. Majority of the time he was extremely inattentive to what he was doing to me, talking, shucking, jiving & clowning to the other customers & etc & I’m in his chair paying him for service. After realizing he messed up he apologized & I kept telling him to stop & I told you a .25 inch, he got smart made a comment & said “I can super glue it back on yo’ head for your sir” & laughed in my face.
No way in hell I’d recommend...

Marie is a grown woman doin grown thangs in that shop, baby! Her clippers got some oil, some anointing, some stories on em. She does not look like what she came from and neither does her skills.
I scheduled an appointment with Marie a few days before a convention where I'd present a paper. This would be my 3rd haircut since I first cut my locs off back in December. I've had ups and downs in how I've been perceived since I cut them until a few weeks before I went to see Marie. I sat in her chair and melted. It was like being a special guest on a podcast/therapy session/ brunch while getting a haircut. She asked about my background and submerged me in hers as she was careful to snip and clip and dye my crown in a way that it complimented and kept my features baby-bottom soft. I expected to be uncomfortable in what is socially a man's sanctuary but sitting in Marie's chair was refuge for me. I caught on to the roaming eyeballs but was so entranced by Marie's personality and humility, I eventually forgot they were there. Walking out of the shop, the hawks were definitely gawking and my spirit was 10 feet tall thanks to Marie. Thank you beautiful. Can't wait for the...
Read moreI showed up to my first appointment ten minutes early and they had me wait around for 30 minutes. I didn’t mind at all. The music was great and the atmosphere was very relaxed. When I finally get to my chair, the barber was having to fix some issue with the credit card machine and was going back and forth between my haircut and the register. Which again I was completely fine with. Things break and we have to improvise.Today, I showed up to my appointment which I thought was at 11:30 and they tell me I had actually scheduled it for 11. The barber proceeds to yell at me like I’m a little child. I understand that I made a mistake and that I wasted her time, but there was no need to belittle me in front of all the costumers and staff. I just expected the same understanding I extended towards them to be extended back to me and it was not. They offer fantastic haircuts and are usually offer amazing service, but I will not be...
