We should have skipped this place when the address in yelp was incorrect, apparently they moved across the street and never took the time to update. This should have been the 1st red flag.
The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday afternoon, it took about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge and seat us. Another few minutes go by and finally someone took our drink order.
I ended up ordering the Alambre and the wife had the Carne Asada Fries.
My order partially came out (just the meat) followed about 5 minutes later with the rest (rice/beans/tortillas/other toppings). Another 5-10 minutes and my wife's order finally arrived. No apologies for the delay or anything.
To make it worse, the Carne Asada Fries were not as listed. On the menu it describes the proper recipe (fries covered in cheese topped with steak, guac, pico, sour cream and cheese), but she received a plate with a pile of fries covered in cheese, and a piece of steak to the side. When confronted with the issue, our waiter argued with her over the dish. He brought over a menu and she even showed him the listing, asked where the other toppings were, why the steak wasn't cut on top, etc... he went to (I assume) the manager and came back still arguing that the dish was correct. In the end he just brought over a bowl of sour cream and pico and never said another word.
With as many Mexican restaurants around, I suggest going elsewhere... You would probably get better food and service at...
Read moreWe went here for a Mother’s Day lunch yesterday and it was embarrassingly bad.
We were seated with no napkins or silverware. When we asked for some napkins, we were given three or four, for a table of 5, with kids. Anyone with kids + chips and dip know you need napkins.
Our food took about 40 minutes to arrive. Again. We had no silverware with which to eat it with. No problem though, because they served half the table and then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the other food, so we wouldn’t have used the silverware anyways.
Finally, the rest of the food arrives and…two orders are wrong. One order of nachos was disgusting and soggy, and looked as if it had been made a while ago and was reheated in the microwave and served to us. We sent it back, and we received a plate of chips in return, half of which had some cheese and ingredients on them. The other half did not. We sent those back as well, and told the kid who ordered them we’d take them to McDonalds afterwards. My chicken fajita entree came out as steak + chicken. Unfortunately, I don’t eat beef. So could t eat that.
The waitress was totally disengaged and didn’t see to care whatsoever.
We’ve given this place a few tries but the last 2-3 times have been so disappointing, we can’t justify the cost anymore.
Would NOT recommend to anyone when there so much competition nearby. Go to El...
Read moreBelieve me when I tell you that you could make a better meal at home in less time with less aggravation than going to Collierville's La Hacienda. You can make or get this quality of Mexican food anywhere in Memphis, and it's not worth dealing with a staff as confused or as brutally rude as this place.
I placed two to-go orders within a week -- one over the phone and one online. I received confirmations for both orders and was told to pick up within 10-20 minutes. Both times, I arrived after the time in the confirmation, and both times, the order had somehow not been placed with the kitchen.
I waited for much longer than it should have taken after that and, the second time, even had the bartender smirk that it had "only" been 54 minutes instead of the hour that I said it had taken. We're talking about one quesadilla, and this was the attitude. There was no offer for a discount either time, and they of course made sure to add the $5 service charge.
Your time is more valuable than this, and there is a Taco Bell literally next door with a friendlier staff and food...
