I totally love this place! I usually dread going to Indian stores because people are usually unfriendly and or lack basic social skills. (Btw, my parents are of Indian descent).

I wanted to buy some guavas for Mom and the ones they had were large and very tasty. On my way out, I saw some handmade ladoos which looked so delicious too, so of course, I bought them on a whim. They were soooo delicious. I don't eat desserts often, so it was extra special having these ladoos and sharing them with my sister.

On my last night, I stopped by the store and bought some samosas which were perfect!!

The guys who work at the store are all super nice and helpful. I love the store; it's clean and not overwhelming in size.

I'd highly recommend going to Sam's instead of Balaji Supermarket, where they have rude guy at the checkout. He consistently harassed my Mom to the point she didn't want to go to the store.

After my sister told the new manager, she said, "that's just the way he is." He was abrasive and condescending. Obviously, the store and manager doesn't care about customers and or customer service.

I visited several other Indian stores in Memphis but I liked it the most, staff and owner both are well behaved. The quality of products are great and are being sold at the reasonable rate. I never had to return any product. They maintain the cleanliness very well. Recently they expanded the store and they kept the veggie stuff very nicely. Few days back an incident happened in front of me, one customer came to return a bag of rice saying that it has worms, the way of talking that also with LADY staff was not acceptable. Also he consumed more than half of the rice. But hats off to the staff, the way they controlled the situation. Additionally when they checked, they didn't find anything on the rice but still didn't said anything to that customer. Really I appreciate the People Management skill of the entire staff.
