Learn moreWas excited to try this place but disappointed. Place is small, can't blame them for being tucked away in a strip mall area. Food was mediocre - too small in size, too expensive. Too bad because I was excited for duck fat fries since having them in Maine! They were super soggy in an incredibly small portion, we even asked for 'loaded' and most of the cheese was stuck to the foil on the pan rather than the fries. Pizza is a tiny 11 inches. Beignets are super small but at least a plateful. Too expensive for what you get overall.
We came in, the wait staff (1 lady) told us to sit anywhere. She didn't like coming over to take our order and she attempted to memorize it. I'm not sure how it works there but I know from experience that there is a higher chance that a memorized order will be wrong. No tablet. No pen and paper. My favorite thing is how she sneezed in very close proximity during this and didn't even excuse herself, lol. Manners.
In fact, she just didn't like helping or serving. It was lovely to see her do the whole welcome speech to the group that came in after us and placed way more effort on them. She actively avoided eye contact and checking on us but did so for others. She actively walked around us. I literally watched her welcome one table, introduce herself, explain how things worked here, and take their order on the handheld (!!!) I thought she didn't have because she did none of this with us.
We were polite and apologetic for asking questions, learning how things worked here since she didn't explain, and trying to be low maintenance (even cleaned up our whole table afterward) but she was just so annoyed by our presence from walking in to paying and leaving. Not coming back. I now know I would rather set my own house on fire in attempt to fry my own duck fat fries than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Cogstone Brewing Company is such a hidden gem! šŗ The variety of unique beers is unlike anywhere elseāwhere else can you try a Beet Cream Ale, Cucumber Cream Ale, or even Chips & Salsa beer? ⢠The Beet Cream Ale was incredibly light and smooth. ⢠The Cucumber Cream Ale smelled just like fresh cucumbersāso refreshing! ⢠The Chips & Salsa Ale completely blew my mindāthe aftertaste is literally like spiced salsa with salty tortilla chips. How do they do that?! ⢠Their Pumpkin Ale is a seasonal star, perfectly balanced without being overpowered by nutmeg or cinnamon. ⢠My personal favorite? The Cream Aleāso smooth, with a touch of sweetness that almost reminds me of cream soda. Yum!
The food is just as impressive. The burger was juicy and packed with flavor, and the duck fat fries are golden, crispy perfection (though I wish more came with the combo⦠we ended up ordering extra because they were that good!). They also offer fire-oven pizzas and even burrata (which could use some tomatoes for balance, but still tasty).
Between the unique brews, delicious food, and the option to grab merch or take home a growler of your favorite beer, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. A must-try for locals and visitors alike! They have great, social staff- go see Jessica she...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery good beer and pizza. Loved the location, building and atmosphere. Have seen some comments stating the inside is dark but we went around 2pm. The place was well lit in our opinion. Had the Margherita with ham and sun dried tomatoes and my wife the Hawaii 5.0. They where both very good with a slight burn from the brick oven which makes the pizza complete. As for beers tasted the I had the IPA, Oatmeal Stout, Belgian Wit, Bourbon Barrel Russian Imperial Stout, another IPA cause it's great and finally the Beet it Cream Ale. Also took home a Oatmael Cookie Stout home. My wife had the Coconut Brown, Blueberry Wheat, Irish Red and the Chips and Salsa and also ended up taking a Coconut Brown home. Top 5 for my taste where: 1.Bourbon R.Imperial Stout 2.Chips&Salsa 3.Beet It 4.Coconut Brown 5.Oatmeal Stout
Not to say that the rest are not amazing as well because they where wonderful. We are both from Puerto Rico and hadn't had pizza or beer that impressed us in the midwest so far until now. The food and drinks are superb specially for...
