Edit: Between the sincere response from the owner and going on a different night, I'm glad I came back here...between the bartenders, Jesse & Mandy, and the awesome KJ they have (Chris), I am revising my review and am looking forward to hanging out here often!
What the hell happened here?!?! I come here once in a while and really liked it a lot but ran into some regulars/friends lately that told me this place is sliding hard/getting sketchy. I go in there tonight (Tues, 2 Apr) expecting to see Jesse and/or Mandy and instead I run into what ends up being an idiot. I asked for a Cape Cod and she gives me the deer in the headlights look. Ok, no problem...I explain it's just a simple vodka/cranberry with a lime wedge. She still looked confused and said that since it's a "white boy drink", she'd "need a white boy" to tell her how to make it. Uhhhhh, "vodka/cranberry" is common and pretty self-explanatory and the white boy remarks are pretty stupid. I left, won't back, and will be sure to share my experience/opinions of this place to others whenever I have the...
Read moreI just left from my first visit at this joint and I had a great time. I was in a new place but felt very comfortable.
I stopped in just for a beat- to sing a karaoke song from a really trying day. I was greeted by Jesse, the bartender, he’s a nice gentleman who got me a tasty ice water.
Then shortly afterwards- I met the amazing Trae, he is the karaoke master of ceremonies, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
I lucked out by going in this evening- because not only did I get to sing within a timely manner, I got to listen to Trae sing a song .. and it was phenomenal.
He definitely blew my hair back- especially with him doing dance moves and singing? What? I was excited to see him perform, everybody loved him- he has a refreshing vibe .. upbeat, yet laid-back. You can tell that he is very comfortable within his own skin. Kudos. More of that, please.
Please don’t hesitate to stop in there, they will make you feel at home & treat you with kindness. Thank you for reading....
Read moreOn today, I was told by this establishment's owner, that our family and Dalylah would be asked to leave the establishment if/when her patrons (who suffer from allergies) arrived. I informed her that she couldn't say that to us in reference to a Service dog and a person with a disability to which she responded, "Well, this is my bar and I make the rules." Okay, so we left. It is quite unfortunate that a place of business would allow someone to feel so unwelcomed. It is not a disabled person's responsibility to cater to anyone. While I always try to ve sensitive to other's it infuriates me when I am met with such disregard and disrespect. I informed her that I would be reporting this to Ada and she said "Go Ahead." There has to come a time where awareness is real and acceptance to disabled person's and their rights have to be honored just as we are asked to...
