This store has the worst customer service imaginable. We went in and bought 2 Nintendo Switches through the store. Due to the high demand of the console, they had to be ordered through their online system and shipped to us. During that same purchase we also bought extra controllers, several more games and cases. It was a long process, only 1 person working in the store.
Our Nintendo Switches arrived yesterday and one was dead on arrival. Blue screen error, device won't actually load up at all. Went to this store, since this is the store we ordered the switches through and the extremely rude person behind the counter told us to "call the number" for support. That's all he kept saying... "Call THE number". What number? Where can I find the number? Who is the number to? He again repeated "Call THE number, I don't have a switch in stock to swap it out with".
We knew before even driving to this store that they didn't have switches in stock. I mean we did have to order this one from the store and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive.
We should have known better than to go to this location. The week prior, the week after we order the switches, we went into this location to purchase a PS VR bundle. When we asked the person behind the counter if they had one the response was one word, "Nope". Nothing after that. Didn't offer to order one for us, didn't offer to look to see if another location had any in stock. Just said "Nope" and went to talking with his coworker who just walked into the store. Completely ignored us. After about 2 minutes of just standing there dumbfounded by his "customer service" we left the store. Either one of them said anything to us as we walked out the door. We got in our car and drove to the Gamestop just down the road at Palmer Park Super Center and had amazing customer service and got our PS VR package.
So after getting the same customer service over the switch as we did with the PS VR at this First & Main Town Center location, we got into our car, even more frustrated and drove to the Palmer Park Super Center location, which is where we should have gone to in the first place and again received amazing customer service, had our issue taken care of and a new replacement switch ordered and on it's way.
I'm confused on why the GameStop at First & Main Town Center is still in business with their complete lack of professionalism, when another GameStop, which is also larger as well, with far superior customer service is just a 5 minute drive away.
Save yourself the rude experience of this location and just go down the road where you'll be actually...
Read moreAwful customer service. I wanted FIFA 18 to play the world cup mode on, so I was planning to just order it from their website since they rarely have games like that in stock. However, after checking, the website said that they had the game in stock at this store near me. Still doubting in my mind, I decided to call just to double check. They then confirmed it and said they would set it aside for me when I got there. When I arrived I asked for it and after some searching they pulled out a disk in a paper disk case. The lady there said that since there was no case for it they would put it random dummy case, no worries there at all. However as I was walking out I decided to check the game to make sure I got the one I was looking for. But when I opened up the case the disk was not a FIFA 18, but F1 2018. Oh well, a simple misunderstanding is what I thought at first, so I just went in to return it. However, the employee stated that she had noticed that the game was different and that it just must have been mis-marked and no FIFA 18 was in stock. Huh? Were they hoping I was just gonna walk out of there with a totally different game then I called ahead and asked for? The employee had to have seen the disk at least 5 times after searching for FIFA 18, ( after I called to make sure it was there) and entirely neglected to let me know that it was a totally different game. Even more frustrating was the fact then when I got home to order it on their website it was going to be nearly double the price to have it shipped. I then, not really expecting anything to happen, messaged GameStop's customer service asking if they would honor the price since they assured me that the game was in stock even though wasn't. No response. Honestly I used to like GameStop but this time around there service was so horrendous it makes me never want to shop there again. I mean, come on! At least reply and let me know they wont honor the price. Im not the guy to relentlessly complain about every other thing that goes wrong but Im left pretty frustrated about this. I hope your experience...
Read moreRecently went in the store to find classic Halo CE for Xbox, you know, the original one.
I ripped the games off the shelves, sweating, praying I'd find my dear sweet Halo Combat Evolved! Panic was rushing through me, and I felt dread dripping on my brow. I was positive that I must've looked like I had been shot I was in so much visual anguish. I collapsed on my knees, wheezing. Never again would I host an incredible lan party, as the boys and I would run around as Master Chief and talk about Cortana's feet... I was heartbroken.
It was at this moment, a calm voice arose from behind me. "Excuse me sir, do you need any help today?" The voice, angelic in tone, soft and supple, with a firm hand that reached out to me, symbolic of God sharing his love to man. I looked up to see a handsome, well groomed chap with long brown hair, and perfectly shaped glasses. "You look like you need to find something"
I was shocked. How did he know I needed something? In a Gamestop no less! He helped me to my feet, and before anything could escape my lips, he smiled and said. "A Lan party gamer, right? Boys nights?" A smile cracked through my tear stained cheeks. This man, he knew what gamers wanted, and needed.
Without evening saying what I was looking for, his other hand slipped behind his back and he revealed a classic Xbox version of Halo CE. He smiled at me, a smile that stopped time. "We keep an original stash in all Gamestops, just for dedicated gamers like yourself." My jaw gaped, I was in disbelief. Before I knew it I was at the counter paying an incredibly low price for an industry shattering masterpiece of video game culture.
"Whats your name?" I would stutter still in a state of disbelief.
"Chase" He responded, cool and composed. "Have a great lan party!"
I left the store, and haven't forgotten his name since, this moment a piercing bullet through the lobes of my memory. Every Lan Party with the boys, we pour one out for this Gamestop's greatest unsung hero, Chase.
Thank you, my friend, for letting...
