I am a black card member of planet fitness and this is the only location that is open 24/7 near me, unfortunately. I went to tan here one day and was told I had to sign up, fill out a questionnaire, reserve a time and wait. Not too much of a big deal, even though at all the other locations in the area all I have to do is ask for time in a bed and they set it up immediately. I wait and my time arrives (even though there is nobody else in the tanning beds so not sure why I was waiting) and I go back to my tanning bed (stand up version). I proceed to undress, and begin apply my tanning lotion and the bed turns on automatically (all the other places wait for you to enter and hit start) so I rush as fast as I can while my time ticks away and jump in as quickly as possible. After about 2 minutes I go to turn the fan up inside and then the bed turns off. I press the buttons to turn it back on and it turns on and off. I irritatedly put on my over shirt and shorts (no undergarments) and go to the front desk to ask to use a different bed that isn't malfunctioning. The response I got was what set me off, I had now been here 45 minutes and endured filling out a questionnaire, forms, waiting for my time, rushing to get in and the person to come back to the desk. I had planned on being there for 15-20 minutes and was coming up on an hour. I asked the employee to switch me to a properly working bed and he told me there was no way for him to do that because customers are required to have 24 hours between tanning sessions. I told him I had only been in the bed approximately 2 1/2 minutes and I only needed 7 minutes in another bed. He said there was absolutely no way for him to bypass this and that I would have to wait 24 hours to tan. I was irate at this point and just went back to the room, grabbed my things and left.
I had taken my children to my sisters house and now was already 30 minutes late (I called her abd she said not to worry thankfully and suggested I call a different one). I called the location near my home and told them what happened and asked if there was any way I would be able to tan if I came there. He said absolutely, I'm so sorry they treated you like that and to come by right away that he'd have a bed ready and waiting for me. When I arrived he greeted me warmly and apologized for the other locations actions. I thanked him and when I was done he told me that was entirely false and that there was absolutely no reason why I wouldn't be able to tan, that he must have been lazy or had something against me.
I really hate that this is the only location that is open 24/7 as I work nights. There customer service is absolutely terrible, I had been there 3 or 4 times before to work out and had to literally search the gym for workers, wait for staff to finish personal conversations about their dating life and for them to finish DMing or updating their twitter before being able to ask them anything or get help checking in because their scanner never seems to be able to read my QR code on my phone.
Wish they would pay better attention to their customers and be respectful and look for solutions. I know I don't pay a huge amount to be a black card member, but the service I have received at the constitution location, and especially the Austin bluffs location is a million times better than this place. Literally go to any other planet fitness if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHey manager of planet fitness a really great way to lose you patrons and their memberships is by telling them what they can and cannot do in your gym while they are there. I pay my fees and there is no reason you or your staff should be able to ell me what I can and cannot do in your gym I was sitting down minding my own business not harming anyone e or interrupting their service to you company but yet I'm not allowed to sit for more than 30 minutes according to your staff. Please tell me where that was in the contract I signed with your gym please so I can refer to you placement rules before I attend again wouldn't want to upset someone by sitting somewhere for 45 minutes that might hurt someone. 0 STAR REVIEW IF IT WAS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Btw contacting corporate because that policy does NOT exist in have looked online. Now the property owner is literally hunting my car down and calling security on me don't know if the same owner or not but harassment and stalking are unacceptable behaviors. Told by the police this is nit the first time the land owner has caused the police to called because he screams at you staubg you've been here f9r 2 days when I have GPS proof I was not here overnight. If they have an overnight parking issue maybe post signs that sat 24 hr surveillance and no overnight parking. Make your parking lot a paid lot with a lot attendant and allowable hours instead of stalking someone on your cameras when they show up. Need to have your facts straight sir before screaming at a gym goer. I've used this gym since 2019 and have not had an issue till now. Please watch the attached video to see how the land owner deals with the public. Instead of simply asking someone how long have you been here. And stating you think it was too long and would like them to leave your property. But he circled my vehicle 2 days in a row and made me feel attacked and victimized when I did...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a paying Planet Fitness member for 6 years and rely on their facilities while living on the road in my van. While I understand the policy about no overnight parking, what Iāve experienced lately at this location (and a couple others) is beyond policy. itās targeted profiling and harassment of van dwellers.
This gym is open 24/7, but Iām effectively banned from using it at night because I drive a Sprinter. If I work out late (which I used to love) security assumes Iām sleeping in the lot, even if Iām clearly inside the gym the entire time. My workouts are long by nature: I do a full warm up, strength training, mobility work, yoga, and a shower. That can take me anywhere between 3-6 hours, and thatās not unusual for someone serious about their health.
Whats worse, even when I come during the day (which is hard to do with work), security badgers my fiancĆ© in the van while Iām inside. Weāre not causing any trouble. weāre paying members, following the rules, and just trying to take care of ourselves. But instead of being welcomed as customers, weāre singled out, watched, and harassed.
I want to make it clear: when Iām made aware of a no overnight parking rule, I respect that and leave before curfew. Yet that doesnāt stop security from knocking aggressively on my doors, even in broad daylight! targeting me and others based solely on the vehicle we drive. No one else in the parking lot is subjected to this level of scrutiny.
Planet Fitness claims to be a āJudgment Free Zone,ā yet this obsessive, image-obsessed parking lot surveillance contradicts everything that slogan stands for. Itās not just unfair, itās invasive and stigmatizing toward those of us who live differently.
There needs to be a serious reevaluation of how security is trained and how policies are being enforced. We deserve to be treated with basic respect. not suspicion and hostility, simply for existing...
