I recently returned a pair of jeans that were gifted to me. They did not have another pair in my size to exchange, so I was told to look around and see what else I may like to exchange them for. The associate motioned towards all of the racks in the back portion of the store - along the walls extending to the fitting rooms, the two racks in the center, and a table with bins stacked on and under in the corner - and she explains that it’s all on clearance with an additional 50% off, and that extra 50% off can bring the price down to as low as $2.50. She tells me there’s a lot of great deals so I thank her and start looking at the merchandise. I ultimately didn’t find anything on the clothing racks that met my needs, but I did find some adorable accessories on the clearance table in the corner, and with the 50% off, they should have rung up at around $3-$5 each! I also picked out a few earrings they had on BOGO $5 sale. After a different associate rang up my exchange, it came to significantly more than expected. When I questioned the associate, she just said she had given me credit for the exchange and said it was correct. I asked again, and ended up removing a couple items so I didn’t go over my planned amount. After paying and receiving my items, the next customer has the exact same issue with her clearance accessory purchase! When she questioned it, the associate tells her that the accessories from the table are not an extra 50% off, and refused to make it right when both of us explained to her that we were told ALL clearance was an additional 50% off. Not only did the associate refuse to make it right, she treated two customers poorly by letting them believe they were at fault for the situation or worse - that they were too dumb to do the math on a purchase. This store has adorable clothes and accessories, which is why I gave it an extra star than I would otherwise, but if their policies and/or associates are not customer friendly, I’m happy to take my business to retailers with a focus on the customers that keep their...
