Most of the reviews I've read on Easton Commons are extremes. Whether that be positive or negative, they are, regardless, on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Here is a completely real, accurate, and unbiased review:
I looked around Columbus for one-bedroom apartments for several months. Most one-bedrooms around campus area were extremely expensive ($1,000+), and prices went higher from there (Upper Arlington, etc.) Even the nicest apartments in older complexes still maxed over $1,000. Granted, Easton Commons was running a special when I moved in, but my rent is $732. That includes a big living room, kitchen area with bar, laundry room, bedroom with a walk-in closet, and bathroom. People who complain about the price at Easton Commons maybe should have just opted for smaller square footage. There are multiple different floor plans that are one (or two, three, etc) bedroom that vary in pricing. It's simple, if you don't have enough money to pay for a larger area, then don't get that floor plan. I pay the least amount of rent out of all my 20-30 year old friends.
There seems to be lots of connotation with Easton Commons being a dangerous/ghetto place. Most of the residents who live in my building are older couples (older meaning like 50+). My neighbors are an Arab family with several youngsters and a Caucasian man around 25 years old. Both are extremely nice. Everyone I pass whether it's getting my mail, walking to my car, etc. always greets me with a pleasantry. It is NOT an unsafe area at all. I repeat: NOT UNSAFE. I have never heard my neighbors through the walls.
The apartments themselves are, kind of hard to describe. They look brand new, very clean and well put together. But upon further inspection, there are little things that are wrong. For example, there are inconsistencies with the paint in my bedroom, and the cabinets are plastic, definitely not wood. I don't know if that varies in different floor plans with higher rents, but I'm just describing my own experience. However, like I said before, the apartments are VERY ROOMY. I have four huge windows in my apartment that let in a lot of natural light and are the favorite thing of all my guests. I constantly receive comments upon the beauty of the windows and how much space is in the apartment.
The staff is very helpful if you go into the office and speak with someone one on one. They are a little hard to reach over the telephone. However, maintenance requests are filled usually within 48 hours. One request took longer but that was because he had to order a new part for my sink. Some of the staff members really know their job and Easton Commons. Some, on the other hand, don't know their ass from their elbow. It's just kind of the luck of the draw who you get. But they are all extremely nice and really try to help you in whatever way that can be.
Parking is bad if you return home after 6pm on weekdays. There aren't enough spots in the parking lot area for all the residents of the building, so some will be forced to park along Easton Way or other areas. Its kind of a pain, but what are you going to do?
There is no elevator, any many steps in the flight of stairs, so make sure you realize and take that into consideration (carrying up groceries, furniture when moving in, etc).
Packages go to the front office, (weirdly some go to straight to your door, but I can never tell when they will and when they won't), so you have to go to the front office and ask someone to get you your package. Similarly, mail is sometimes a pain because the mailmen put other people's mail in your box. (This is more reflective of the USPS not Easton Commons, but I thought I'd include it.)
The workout facility is actually pretty great. They have new equipment, three treadmills, free weights, other machines, and TVs, medicine balls, etc. It's crowded after 6pm so I would recommend going before then.
The pool is medium sized and very busy in the summer. Usually children frequent it pretty regularly, but it's a pool and kids so...what...

I want to address the ongoing and serious issues that have persisted since I became a resident at this facility in 2020. My objective is to provide a comprehensive account of recent events to shed light on the situation.
Upon moving into my apartment, I encountered a multitude of problems that I consistently voiced my concerns about. These issues, ranging from floor problems to falling doors and more, have led to an unsafe living environment both during my pregnancy and after having my child. Consequently, I made the definitive decision not to renew my lease.
Subsequently, a member of the office contacted me, inquiring if I would reconsider my decision if the issues were to be resolved. Given the promise of improvements, I agreed to reconsider. However, during discussions in July regarding potential changes to my home, the fact that my apartment was being rented out was not disclosed.
Under the assumption that I would be continuing my residence, as urged to reconsider, I refrained from seeking alternative housing. To my astonishment, I recently discovered that my apartment had been rented out, compelling me to initiate contact for clarification. With the 8th of the month approaching, I was faced with the daunting task of making swift arrangements, especially with the presence of my child.
While initially considering a transfer, the entire situation appeared nonsensical and no accountability was taken. The issue was exacerbated by the unsatisfactory treatment I've endured from the management.
On August 7th, accompanied by my mother who has been a firsthand witness to the issues I've encountered since 2020, I visited the leasing office. The deplorable condition of my floor, which has resulted in injuries to both my family and myself, is entirely unacceptable. In fact that morning my 2 year old hurt her foot due to the condition on the floor. Additionally, I had recently experienced sewer water leakage from both my toilet and tub. Upon entering the office, we were met with an unwelcoming and tense atmosphere. Notably, Noah, whose history of disrespectful behavior is well-documented in reviews, exhibited dismissive conduct. Noah's interruption of my mother while she expressed her concerns serves as a glaring example of the unprofessionalism we encountered.
Once directed to Ashley, Ashley and Ashley alone should been handling the matter. As my mother walked towards the front door to leave the premises, Celia began walking in her direction. This woman was aggressive and shouting which was entirely inexcusable and unprofessional. The situation escalated to the point where my brother needed to intervene.
The treatment we received during this incident, evidenced by the locking of doors and closing of blinds and forcing us out and calling the police on us, unequivocally demonstrates prejudiced behavior. It is imperative to emphasize that We are not criminals and should not have been treated as such. We waited outside for over 30 minutes for police to come but when they didnât, we left. The situation is disheartening.
As a resident and paying customer, I have EVERY right to express my experiences. The prolonged neglect of the floor issue is indefensible. My efforts to seek assistance and address concerns were met with unwarranted aggression and hostility. My approach has consistently been grounded in evidence and documentation, as demonstrated by photographs of the floor and a history of past complaints. Despite my persistent attempts at fostering constructive dialogue, my experiences have been marked by dismissal and disrespect. The disappointing manner in which my concerns have been treated underscores the management's lack of professionalism and courtesy.
I hope this message serves as a catalyst for meaningful change within this organization. It is my sincere hope that no individual or family will ever have to endure the distressing experience that my family and...

Many cars have been broken into and management refuses to help!
Living at Easton Apartments and Townhomes since February 2023 has been incredibly frustrating, despite the initial appeal of its location near the city, shops, and Lifetime Fitness. My experience has been marred by significant issues that management has consistently failed to address adequately.
First and foremost, the infestation of mice in my apartment was deeply unsettling. Despite bringing this to the attention of management, I was told that pest control was too expensive, leaving me to deal with the problem myself by setting traps. Throughout the winter nights, the sounds of mice scurrying in the walls were a constant and unwelcome presence. Picture
Security has also been a major concern. My truck was broken into, with its window smashed, in the apartment complex parking lot. Shockingly, seven other vehicles were also targeted. When I requested a reduction in rent to help offset my $500 insurance deductible, management refused, stating they were not responsible. Disturbingly, this was not an isolated incident, having occurred multiple times both before and after my experience. This led to a constant unease about parking my own vehicle at my residence, especially after other residents mentioned seeing suspicious individuals casing vehicles. Picture
Dealing with the property manager, Christine, has been an additional source of stress. Her attitude has been consistently unhelpful and dismissive of residents' needs. In my opinion, her conduct warrants serious review.
Furthermore, the construction of low-income housing across from the complex, with buildings that look identical to the existing apartments and townhomes, has, in my observation, brought a noticeable decline in the neighborhood's atmosphere.
My lease renewal process was also handled poorly. As a student wanting to avoid moving costs after a year, I requested to stay in my non-renovated apartment. Christine informed me that I would either have to move to a smaller, more expensive unit or pay an additional $150 per month to remain in my current apartment. My request for updated appliances was met with a scoff and a denial. Feeling stuck, I reluctantly agreed to the increased rent.
The move-out process in October 2024 was equally frustrating. I meticulously cleaned the apartment and documented its condition with photos. I left the required AT&T modem, assuming it should stay. However, AT&T later contacted me, demanding its return or a $150 charge. For two weeks, I repeatedly contacted the leasing office. Jamie and Celieta initially claimed they needed to contact maintenance to locate the modem. After numerous calls and messages, Jamie admitted that while they don't "throw away" modems, it had been misplaced. My request to offset this $150 charge with my move-out balance was denied, with Jamie stating it wasn't her responsibility and that Christine wouldn't assist. This added an unexpected $150 to my moving expenses. Pictures
Finally, my energy bills had inexplicably increased by an average of $115 per month over the past year. This was due to an old and inefficient water heater. Management's response to my concerns was that they would not replace it until it broke down completely.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise potential renters to exercise extreme caution before considering Easton Apartments and Townhomes. There appear to be newer and cheaper apartments available that would likely offer a living experience free from mice, vehicle break-ins, and such poor...
