If I could give negative stars, I would. Basically my experience has been with hunting gear. In my purchase of a compound bow my draw length has been measured incorrectly. I had to return my bow and exchange it because the guards for the draw string weren't attached causing the arrow to chafe when it was fired. Why I was sold the bow like that I do not know, it was missing pieces. When I went to exchange it the associate told me to just take the piece off the bow on the rack. I looked at him dumbfounded. There is so much tension on the line it can't come off. So I said why don't we just exchange it. His reply was it's just a display bow. My response was: No, this is a real bow that can fire arrows with which to hunt. I finally got the bow exchanged, and a month later the peep sight is sliding up the drawstring which severely impacts my accuracy. I'll be taking it to a bow shop which I expect at some point during the life of a bow, but not after a month. (While I was there I saw another 'new' bow on the rack that had the peep sight missing. The tag was at full price.)
My next experience was to purchase a firearm. After the background check my ID was checked by a manager. I was informed I can't purchase a firearm with a PO box on my ID. While I was frustrated the DMV did that instead of my legal address and frustrated I could not get the firearm, the reason I mention this is that I was there for two hours going through a background check and it was not until after the two hours that I was told this detail. Would have been nice to know at the start. 2 hours wasted. I took my business elsewhere and got my firearm. With the amount of trouble I have been having with my bow I am thankful I didn't end up getting the firearm. As it pertains to hunting the staff here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm never overly ecstatic when I have to go into this Concord location. There is always a very long wait in line to check out. There is always these retail workers that appear to hate their job and helping customers. I would say 2 out of 10 of the retail workers actually enjoy helping customers with a great demeanor.
Cashiers: When you are at checkout and prices don't match they are very good about figuring out why and fixing the mistake. They are also very good at returns.
Shoe Dept: It can be very daunting waiting for the correct size shoe or waiting for someone to come around and help. We have encountered some workers that don't know much about their inventory and instead of finding out they just say what they think is the correct answer. What I mean is when you go for a shoe but need it in another color or size you ask them for that which they have stock out back. Instead of going to check, sometimes they will just tell you it's not something that they have. But I always double-check on the website linked to the store to verify. Then I bring it to their attention and they locate what I need in the back.
It's just never fun to have to go through all that effort when it is their job description to make the buying process easier.
Camping/Hiking Dept:
I have always been very pleased with the help that those Retail Associates seem happy to assist with great attitudes and very helpful information.
Inventory: luckily they always seem to have what I need in stock. Which keeps me going as a customer.
