The owner is very indignant. She is crass and rude. We thought this was the place recommended to us, but it turns out THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE PLACE RECCOMENDED TO STAY AWAY FROM. Be wary of any business that removes the review tab from their business page on Facebook! After sharing my experience with someone who asked what happened to my hair... they told me about the photos they saw posted about the worst acrylic nail job they had ever seen being done there! I'd grown my hair out for SEVEN months for unspecific hairstyle (which I've worn previously many times.) The young woman was very polite and friendly. I showed her the photo and tried to relax as she styled my hair. The photo I showed her did not resemble a tennis ball with porkchops. However, when she was done doing an Edward Scissorhands job in my head, I now look like a patient who has been losing their hair. I have literally the most important job interview of my life next week, and I'm too embarrassed to even go to the grocery store. How exactly do you style a hairless chihuahua tennis ball with pork chops anyway? My hair is very fine. She butchered it with a razor and has removed so much hair... there is nothing there. In case you're wondering, I showed her a photo of Lisa Rinna whose hairstyle is her signature. The stylist, and I use the term loosely has caused me an immense amount of stress. There is more hair on one side of my head than the other.... and it is not supposed to look this way. Long bangs, lots of layers.... nope. Super short and she removed hair from my already fine head. I spend time building volume with what hair I have... and I now look like my hair was stripped for a parasite infestation. An indignant owner who could not even be bothered to discuss the problem with the customer makes things worse. This is by far the worst haircut from a PROFESSIONAL SALON (?) that I have ever had. The ONLY way to fix this is to wear wig, extensions or a scarf. Deplorable. The situation is only made worse by the fact that I'm legally blind. So literally, I'm sitting in the chair in front of a mirror, and all I can see is a silhouette in the mirror. When I used my camera phone to take a photo to see my new coif and show my husband... I was rendered speechless with shock. I'd even left a ten dollar tip after unknowingly getting butchered. I'm in tears as I write this. Please send me a PM if you want to know who the stylist is. She is moving to Eugene at the end of this month. I realize everyone has a bad day, but if she lacked experience for this haircut, she should have told me. I pray she does not butcher anyone else. More red flags went up as she had another cosmetologist try and point out how to fix this atrocity. They discussed a client who wanted dreadlocks. My stylist said she no longer did them because the last ones she did didn't go well. (?!?!?!) On the positive side... the estheticians on the spa side are AMAZING. Overall, this has the potential to be an amazing one stop beauty shop and boutique. The customer service is good and the staff... oh, wait.... as per the owner, the "Independent contractors" working for the owner are undoubtedly what keeps people coming through the door. I suggest the owner step back further into the background and let her experienced (!) employees keep providing quality, friendly customer service. BTW they are currently hiring both a nail tech and a stylist. Coincidence? I think not. Please Google Lisa Rinna for a photo of what the haircut SHOULD look like. You trust a licensed cosmetologist in their training to be able to do their job. I went in in good faith. I trust this stylist will purchase me a good wig to cover up this atrocious enigma so that Im able to go into public while I wait SEVEN MORE MONTHS for my hair to grow out to be able to have the hairstyle I asked for. ALSO... THE PHOTOS ARE TAKEN AT THE SALON AFTER THE STYLIST BLEW MY HAIR OUT AND 'STYLED' IT AFTER THE CUT!!!!!! AGAIN... For reference, please Google Lisa Rinna hairstyle. Would YOU go to a job interview with this nightmare?...
Read moreI decided to put some festive fun in my hair and was very nervous because I have always kept my hair natural other then one time of putting some fun color underneath my natural blonde. I have not had my hair done in years and was searching for a new hair dresser. I googled hair salons and The Hair Co. Caught my eye. It looked like a great place to check out. I arrived and was greated by my daughters hair dresser, Paige and she did an amazing job on her and was very friendly. She then introduced me to Indi and all she said was this way. I was shown the chair to sit in and I tired to make small talk. I showed her a picture of what I was trying to do and out some green and red stripes underneath of my hair. Keep in mind when I scheduled the appointment I told them I was wanting green and red and they said Indi would be a great stylist for my request. When I told Indi what colors I wanted she said she had to check and was a little caught off gaurd because the colors are not a usual choice. After searching she showed me some color choices and there was not the exact color I was hoping for but it seemed to be a very close option. She told me she would be right back after getting the colors ready. I sat for over 20 minutes in the chair waiting. When she came back she was completely silent. She proceeded to put the color in and when she was done she said now we let it sit. As she walked away I asked how long and she replied 20 to 30 minutes. After 35 minutes she finally came back and told me to go to the sink to rinse it out. And again I sat in utter silence as she rinsed it out and continued to wash my hair with ice cold water. We went back to her station and she trimmed it as I had asked for. I had to ask her to clean up my side bangs as she was going to leave them untouched. She then took the blow dryer and a little cream scrunched just the tips of my hair as I had asked for my hair to be styled with my natural curl. She claimed she has naturally curly hair and knew how to style it that way. She then handed me the mirror and asked what I thought of the color and the cut. It was still very wet like a wet dog. I said the color and cut looked fine, not what I was hoping for but it was OK. She started to take the cape off and I asked if she could style it. As I do feel if you go to a salon you should leave feeling good and not like a wet dog. She looked very frustrated and I simply asked if I could maybe get it straightened. Her response was it will take a long time but if you have time I guess I can. With her response having so much attitude I just replied with can you at least dry it. She dried it very reluctantly leaving my hair still damp when I left as she said it will just frizz out. I had to hold back tears looking at what she had done. It was nothing like what I had asked for and spent hours in silence feeling very uncomfortable. She told me it would be 150. I handed her 160 and she was very frustrated when I asked for my change. I was more then dissatisfied. It was the worst hair salon visit I have ever experianced.. I would recommend never going...
Read moreMy experience at Hair Co. was one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing salon visits in my 54 years. As an outdoorsy person with little salon experience and a medical condition that can flare up under stress, it took immense courage to try hair, nails, eyelashes, and eyebrows here for the first time. Most services were great, and I regularly got my nails done with the same technician. She recommended her friend at the salon as a new hair stylist, so I decided to try her; which was a big move for me. It was a horrible experience. I’ve always loved ash, white, or icy blonde with subtle lowlights and explicitly requested cool-toned highlights, as I strongly dislike warm, honey, or brassy shades. I emphasized this clearly, as it’s the one thing I’m confident about in salons. The stylist, without consulting me, first used a strange curling tool on my finished hair, leaving my hair in tight, unfamiliar ringlets that obscured the color. I was too self-conscious to run errands afterward, lacking the excitement of a fresh salon look. Brushing out the curls revealed a dull, honey-colored blonde with brown lowlights—lifeless and far from my request. My 12-year-old daughter even asked why my hair looked brown. Devastated, I canceled a weekend of July 4th holiday plans, feeling it clashed terribly with my appearance. I had texted the stylist several times asking her what on earth had happened to my hair, how distressed I was, and how soon could I possibly get help. The stylist’s only response was to suggest purple shampoo "my dear", ignoring my distress. Other staff offered sympathy, but no one could fix it before the holiday. A follow-up appointment was made the following Monday, and I was so nervous to attend it - hoping that the stylist would be kind and understanding. From the minute she met me at the door, I could feel her coldness and what undoubtedly was anger at me, the client! She corrected the color to an acceptable ash blonde, but the stylist's only curt words were to insist that I’d chosen warm tones—a claim I firmly dispute. The tense silence made me so uneasy, to the point of tears, that I asked my husband and daughter to join me off to the side in the salon for support. I was so unnerved and saddened by her anger that I actually had to ask her if she was going to do something purposely to hurt my hair right then in response to my devastation. She only answered that she had to protect her work and reputation. There was not a single word or gesture that acknowledged what I had experienced. At my next appointment, my usual nail technician sadly was noticeably cold and filled with uncomfortable silences after the hair stylist interrupted our nail visit to comment on my color. I felt unwelcome and dismissed, like my concerns didn’t matter. Despite liking some staff, I no longer feel comfortable returning for hair or nails. This was a heartbreaking...
