I'm giving them a single star, because I thought that if I gave them zero my review wouldn't be posted.
Over the last 2 months, I haven't had a single instance of positive interaction with this location. My wife bought me a G-Shock MTG a while ago with a warranty because of the price. I brought it back when this fiasco began because my wrist latch felt funny to me, seems the wrist pin had become faulty.
I called Reeds and told them that I'd found an issue with the band or the pin, the lady that took my call (Patricia?) said to bring it in and the gentleman that deals with repairs would look at it. I immediately got up, drove across town and walked in to find out "oh, he just went home" - strike 1. She took my watch in the back to look at it and said that he'd need to look at it in the morning. I left my watch with a receipt and assurance that they'd call me the following day to let me know if he could fix it or if it had to be shipped out for repairs. "If it has to go out, it'll probably take 3-4 weeks before it's back. Make sure to keep your receipt because you'll have to have it to get your watch back". We'll get back to the receipt later on, I promise.
I never received that call about my watch being looked at or not so I called - not the next day, but the day after. I spoke to another lady who told me that the gentleman that looks at the watches wanted to know why I'd replaced the wrist pin with an aftermarket one - strike 2. Why the heck would I put an aftermarket wrist pin in my nearly $1k watch when I have a warranty. At this point I was fuming pretty bad and demanded to speak to the store manager. She told me that she'd go get him and placed me on hold, when she got back on about 5 minutes later (dang that store must be big) she said that he'd gone on his lunch break and would call me when he returned. He called me around 5:30 and allowed me to describe the horrible lack of customer service that I'd experienced over 4 days. He promised that I'd get called when the watch was fixed and that it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks if it is just a wrist pin issue.
I stopped in at around the 2 and a half week timeframe to find the same lady that I'd dealt with the 1st night who now told me that "it'll probably take 4 - 6 weeks to get it back". Okay, now I'm completely over this debacle - I just want my watch back.
Flash forward to this Memorial Day weekend - remember that receipt that I "had to have", well that must not actually be the case. I was out of town and my watch came back in, they did call my house (I guess there is at least one thing they did right). My son answered to find out that he could pick it up with nothing more than a driver's license that showed the same last name - strike 3. Good thing my son is trustworthy or he'd have taken it straight to the pawn shop.
If you are interested in customer service after the sale, this isn't the jeweler for you. I won't buy a single additional thing from them even if it costs me more...
Read moreIn September 2022 my wife went to Reeds at La Palmera Mall in Corpus and handed them $5,400.00 dollars to order an Omega Seamaster watch for me as a Christmas gift. Over the following two months she called to check on the status and was always told "well, it's just not available". So, she started calling Omega stores and found one immediately.
Saturday 06May2023 I purchased a Seamaster for her from the Omega store at the Galleria in Houston. I had them remove two links from the bracelet; however, it was still too big when I gave it to her. Fast forward to today. She took it to Reeds at La Palmera Mall to have another link removed. Michael told her it would cost $50.00 dollars to do it then told her $25.00.
While I firmly believe in paying for service I find it ridiculous to take a less than a week old, $7,000.00 dollar watch to what's supposed to be an Omega dealer and pay them to perform a service that should be covered by anyone who sells these. The fact is, they're not a dealer. They're just a jewelry store that sells them.
Don't give Reeds corporation any of your money. If you're going to spend your money on jewelry in Corpus Christi Texas go see Lee Steed at Gold Falcon. He has great stuff, great service and he's a local...

Update: After a little rocky start, the staff at Reeds Jewelers in Corpus Christi have gone above and beyond, initially ordered a couple of oysterflex bands, I told them the size (on me not them)after seeing that I needed the next size larger, they offered to take back wrong one that I ordered and get me the correct size. It arrived within a few days, they installed the new band , shined my watch, also offered to clean up a ring I was wearing ( not purchased from them by the way ) came back looking like new.. fantastic service, communication and knowledge of product…special shout out to Michael and Jesse.
