UPDATE ON THIS PLACE: We initially went in when it was fairly new and had an amazing experience with the service here. We had a issue with management and the way they were speaking with employees. Although not one person tried to reach out to me about my review on the poor management of this place we were hoping that they had worked out the kinks in these past few months. We went in with a large group and we’re promptly seated and received the amazing beans and chips. This is where everything went downhill. It took our server ( Brandon) at least 10 minutes to even acknowledge us. Finally after ordering our drinks it took another good 10 minutes to receive them and when we did our waters had very little ice and had gunk on the rim. Our patrons margaritas came and they were HUGE and already had liquid at the bottom as if they had been sitting. ( not sure if it is the mix they use) The last time we came we received a regular size amazing margarita but my patrons were never asked about a size. We were not even aware this large size was available. I guess he just rang up what he wanted either for price reasons or maybe he just decided if we had a bigger drink we wouldn’t need one as fast. Not too sure but this was off putting. Me and my husband tried not to make a big stink as we were with others but things just kept getting worse. We ordered after having to ask for more chips more drinks and waiting for now at least 30 to 40 good minutes. Many of us asked for modifications on our plates and not one was acknowledged . we said nothing and just ate our plates as we had waited almost one hour for the food to arrive. The server was not apologetic sympathetic or even nice about anything. He seemed more annoyed than anything. We thereafter receive our bill and he had added a gratuity and didn’t even say anything to us about it. The last time we came in we were notified that our ticket had an 18 percent gratuity because our party had more than six. We were completely ok with it because we had amazing service but we were disappointed that management allowed this to be placed on the ticket after waiting 30 minutes for drink, over one hour for food, and the worst service in corpus. Needless to say our experience was horrible and we will now...
Read moreDined in restaurant Our over all experience was just ok. They have a few kitchen issues to work out. We ordered drinks Frozen margarita for myself hubby got mojito, both were great. Appetizer was melted cheese and chorizo also good. Complimentary chips, salsa and beans were brought out to snack on. Both were good. Main entree was prime steak with bacon wrapped shrimp, grilled onions and green peppers. Stuffed poblano pepper with cheese, we omitted the beans from the stuffed pepper. Bacon wrapped shrimp were under cooked. Sent those back to redo. Prime steak was thin and over cooked, asked for medium, not well done. Rice was good. Charro beans less lacking flavor. Tasted like they were out of a can to be honest. Guacamole great flavor.
Dessert complimentary churros, were a bit over cooked. . Service was ok. Nothing over the top. Waiter forgot a few things. My husband orderd coke brought a water instead. But he was trying. Very nice guy over all.
We were informed of the soft opening after we noticed the Menu did not reflect what we seen on the website. We were told January 2024 should be a full menu. We were disappointed as we had came this evening to try specifically A few entrees on the full menu. The ambiance was nice, over all upscale look. Great addition for people who like fine dining, which we do. Current menu pricing will certainly limit the clientele. The resturaunt was not busy at all but it did take awhile to get our main entree. It was not as hot as we expected. Nothing was sizzling and piping hot. So they do have some issues to work out.
Over all we spent $121.00 for two, including tip.
Great new addition to Corpus Christi. I wish them...
Read more"Dead Roaches on the plate." I debated if I should write this review or not. I don't normally post reviews but I think this one needed to be posted.
This place is filthy. Don't get fooled by the fancy decor and upscale image they try to potray. We were visiting the city - ordered a few items (some tacos, ceviche) and some drinks. The food looked stale and the ceviche plate had two dead roaches on it covered under the tostadas. I wish I was thinking and quickly took a picture but the waitress hurried up and took the plate. Me and my wife both were turned all the way off 🤢. She threw up as we walked to the car. I almost did as well. This is unacceptable.
Jose, the manager came and apologized. Tried to offer us a 50% off coupon next time. I asked him a bunch of question to see what his answer would be. How did that happen? Do they have pest control on schedule? What was the name of the company?
He took a minute to answer but did mention the name of the company (Ecolab) but I wasn't fully convinced that they were taking care of it on a schedule. First the waitress offered to just take that one plate off the bill. We were just about to start eating and stoped after we saw roaches. As I'm talking to the manager (Jose) the waitress came by and still try to charge us for the drinks that we hardly touched. I was always hesitant eating out and this is it for me. I'm done eating out spending my money and being served nasty, stale food. No matter how nice the outside looks you never know how the back kitchen is. I've heard all kinds of stories but I did experience it myself for the first and last time. No more...
